awesome price, $759+tax came to $851 with 3 mags box etc.

Can someone tell me what the spare spring is? i assume the hammer spring, but is if a different weight?

cant wait to try it out!:dancingbanana:

someone buy my cz85!

Bangbang, I love how the Shadow feels in my hand, the stock grips are great. I did hold one at Gunnar's (where I bought mine) that had the slim blue aluminum grips, it felt thinner, but I think they might take some getting used to. My hold is right thumb on the safety, left thumb on the flat part of the slide release. With the slide inside the frame rails, there's lots of room to get a solid grip.
My trigger breaks cleanly at about 3.25lbs.
The fiber optic front sight is quite usable, although I was warned that it's a bit exposed out there and is prone to being broken, so be careful.
This is my favourite pistol. I'm even starting to reload for it. If you're considering one, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

steve did you replace any springs at all?

Now that i have one, im reading about all the mods that can be done!

I ain't Steve, but...
I replaced my recoil spring with 11lb one, my main/hammer spring with 13lb, and plastic guide rod with stainless. IMO, makes a big diff on felt recoil and trigger pull. If you compete you may want to have the trigger job done as well, I'm happy with mine as-is.

Have a look at czcustom dot com, I ordered my stuff from them. They ship to Canada, but shipping will cost about $25US. You can also try gunsnthings dot ca or CRAFM - one of the sponsors here.

When replacing the main spring, be careful. There are instructions on the net that describe the process (along with trigger job I think). The instructions are for older style spring magazine breaks, the ones you can move with your thumb almost freely when lower pin is removed. The newer ones come with solid breaks, you need to punch out the top pin also. I was too stupid to realize this, forced the break when assembling, and broke it. I felt really stupid. Luckily, it didn't come apart & still works, but I'll replace it at some point.

HTH - ardo.

I got the springs in stock, check out link in my sig, shipping is $1.00 too ;)
Also, can provide you with a link with pix on how to replace main spring if you cannot find it yourself.

Brit, the only thing I did was field strip it and give it a thorough cleaning before putting any rounds through it. Straight from the factory, it had a few small metal shavings in there, but it only takes a few minutes to clean it up.

thanks steve, cleaned it up last night and heading out to the range now!

Well had it out today, awesome feeling gun!

was a little smoother and easier to sight with the FO front. No FTF and only one ejection where a casing got stuck.

im not the best shot but was getting rounds into 2-4 inch area on an 8x10 paper.

Great shooter

When did Northern Troutfitters start selling handguns?

Back in the day all they sold was flyfishing stuff and then ventured into other fishing stuff and a bit of ammo.

All my friends that worked there passed away at a young age!

 to Sheldon and Dan!

they were bought by Omnica source for sports from Vanderhoof is my understanding. Theyve got a great selection of long guns, many hunters but some neat rifles including an hs precision right now.

as for handguns they dont have many, but do stock about 5-10 at any one time.
