Anyone recommend a good ballistic computer? I have no personal experience with them. I don't want a ballistic chart on an Ipod or anything that isn't "high end" and effective. I want something that measures atmposheric conditions, temperature etc and then gives me the solution.

I've tried the search function and got some basic information but didn't really find what I was looking for.

Thanks

I assume you mean ballistic 'software'. Have you looked at Sierra Infinity? Here's a snapshot of the environmental variables.

Here's the excerpt from the web

Sounds like he is looking for something like the Cheytac ABC system. Easiest way to do that for something else would be to get your own Kestrel weather station, get a PDA with ballistics software in it and input the variables from the kestrel. This is essentially what the ABC does except the Kestrel is hooked up directly to the computer and spits out a solution itself.

X2 on the Ipodtouch. Bullet flight has all of Bryan Litz's G7 BC's and everything else you mentioned. You can even use the Itouch as an Inclinometer. If you have a Iphone you can even use it to get a rough estimate of temperature and barometric pressure and elevation (by going to the weather network on a G3 network).

Forget the iPod solution get an iPhone and download Ballistic FTE. This program uses you GPS location to gather this information. It's a great program and works beautifuly.

uhh the iTouch is not an iPod, its just a iPhone minus the cell phone capability but with more hard drive space...

I have Bullet Flight, Ballistic FTE, and iSnipe on a Iphone and use the iSnipe the most. Its the easiest to use for me. Good program;)

The Bullet flight is Easy to Use, take you a few Hours to get use to it, and off you go, No problem here...

It was cheaper than that when it first come out, I pay around $5 for the program, and it come with everything, and now I think the price jump to $30, that was fast.

Somewhat, but it is not compatible with the GPS system, nor the 3G network so you can not make use of all that is offered by these programs.

For instance with Ballistics FTE I can pull up my Atmospheric Conditions table and have it gather all current information using the GPS and 3G network in the phone. You cant do this with the iTouch (from what information I gather from Apple)

If you are looking for good programs try;

Ballistic FTE
BulletFlight
iSnipe
iStrelok (I believe this one is still free and works from what experience I have with it)

That's intriguing, I've got to look into that. Am I correct in understanding its basically pulling info from a weather website coordinated to your location?
