I thought I would post up a little review for some reasonably priced headspace gauges, made by Todd at Okie okiegauges.com.
They are coin-type gauges and come in either singles or sets of 3 (GO, NO-GO and FIELD). I ordered a set of 3, which totals to $50 USD plus $1.50 for shipping. Singles are $26 each.
Well, so far i've got nothing but good things to say about okie gauges. After Todd sent me an email letting me know I am the first Canadian to order his gauges, they arrived within a week. I measured them with my digital calipers and found that they are as they should be: GO-.064", NO-GO- .067" and FIELD- .074" (You can email Todd to specify if you want a .070" NO-GO gauge). They are simple to use- just drop one on the bolt face with the rifle pointed up, and see if it closes or not.
For the price, they are a perfect accessory for the enfield shooter. Todd also makes gauges for other calibers too, so check out the web page. You will find that Todd provides top-notch customer service. He is quick to respond to emails, and just seems like a happy fellow to deal with. All in all,
