Hello Everyone!

I have had this SKS for a little while now, and I've seen many folks on here who have had scoped out SKS's and other "tacticooled" rifles. Personally, I do not like permanently modding a firearm, especially anything older. So, I have made fully reversable changes to my SKS, and have added a scope mount, compact scope and a green milspec laser. I am looking forward to sighting in and plinking with it. I think I just might have gotten this rifle's "heart" going again, and it seems to be going strong.

Comments and oogling welcome, she loves the attention!

I've heard mixed reviews about the scope mounts that replace the rear receiver cover suggesting that it's not a solid base for the scope. A review of one such scope mount on surplusrifle.com came up with groups that were about the same size as those shot with open sights. Your's does look different however, and if it can hold zero could be a popular choice.

Let us know how it shoots, since I'm certainly not the only one interested in seeing how she groups.

Cheers,

Frank

Hello Gents! Well, an update I think is in order!
Firstly, I have a muzzel break, non modification needed coming to me, as well as an SKS specific bipod that fits onto the bayonet mounting "joint/point/where it swings from".
ALSO! I managed to get out to the range and sight it in for 100 yards. Here is a picture: I found the rear mount hard, and reliable. It did not move at all when I fired the SKS, and the flip-up nature of the casing deflector allows me to load via charger clip.

Here's the result:

Nice shooting Tex!
;)
To bad you don't live on the Wet Coast cause we could use another couple of scoped entries for our gong shoot's!
