Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

Sounds like you have detailed knowledge of the T97.. would you care to explain how's it's easily converted to FA, how long it took the RCMP lab to do so, etc?

I'm known for being excited with all type of knockoffs (AKA: cheap guy). :D

But I've never had any desire of laying my hands on this gun. From day one I've known this gun is pretty lame. I was pretty amazed how slow RCMP responded to this gun. Maybe lack of information of this gun? Don't get me wrong, I'm a gunnut too and would be happy to see this gun be put under restricted or even non-restricted.

And I think this gun is really overpriced too. Sometimes knowing too much is a pain in the butt. :p

I just got off the phone with the Canadian Firearms Registry, asking about this. The woman responsible was not in the office.
When I called the CFC they had my file showing it still as a Restricted, but the lady then paused and asked if it was full auto. After several call forwards and a disconnection no one knows when the lady will be returning.
Not happy.

OK, so the question for those who still believe that this is not right is "What Next?"
I need to know the best place and way to direct my support and money to see this resolved correctly. Are we going to try and pull together to back one of the members in court? Who is most qualified to 'lead' the believers in the most effective manner?

Do we have to jump out of our pants yet? The member posting this news has been a member since early 2009, zet only posted two posts, both today regarding this issue. Can you say someone who has been monitoring this site for a while? We should wait till we hear from clobbersaurus before communicating action plans in a public forum. It could be someone 'testing the water' about what sort of s**tstorm this could cause.

Sending ministers letters about something that has only happened on the advise of someone noone knows is not a good idea.

Pie1, read my response to you in the other thread on this.
I've got a few more than 2 posts to my credit have been around a little longer than a year. What was posted about the T97s is accurate. This is happening.

Sorry, posted this before I read your reply in the other thread.

the only thing we can do is FLOOD PARLIAMENT with letters of complaint- e-mails, phonecalls , whatever- LET THEM KNOW THIS WILL NOT STAND-

The restricted Type 97A FRT is 129257-5

Thanks Rob!

If we don't fight for this now, you know full well they'll be after our AR in short order!!!

- The owners need to get in touch with their local paper/news media.
- Every body needs to get in touch with the minister's office

Then we got to get this in the news... http://www.democracy-machine.com/

"Let us not hear that the registration system will cost $100 per firearm. Let us not hear that it is a prelude to confiscation by the government of hunting rifles and shotguns. Let us not contend that it will cost $1.5 billion to put in place. That is the way to distort the discussion. That is the way to frighten people."
- Former Liberal Justice Minister Alan Rock, Hansard, February 16, 1995.
