Ok, so I've purchased my first pistol, it should be arriving next week, and I want to book some range time.

To get an ATT to the range, do I just call when I want to take it, or does it take a period of time to be approved?

I've applied for membership in the club that owns the range, and so would obviously like to get an LTATT when my membership is approved. How long do these typically take to go through?

Thanks!

A couple of weeks depends on where you live. Your going to have to get the LTATT through the club/ have them sign off that your a member. The TATT will only be to take the gun home.

When your new club processes your application they will provide you with the documents that you'll need to apply for your long-term Authorization To Transport. When you have received these documents you can submit your application (in person, or by fax, mail, or courier) to the CFO. You can expect this to take from a day to a couple of weeks to be processed and mailed to you.

In the interim - during business hours, on most week-days - you can telephone the CFO for a temporary Authorization To Transport.

Justice is going to want confirmation of the club membership before the transfer is completed , or at least they did the last time I sold a restricted to a first time owner.
