Toronto Sportsmen Show???

Was a chitty show last year. Might as well been a boat show!

I agree, but im giving it a chance this year to see how the new venue will perform.

I feel I owe them that much as they did specifically leave the old venue because the city wasnt going to allow them to have guns their this year (due to it being a city owned facility).

In short they said "Toronto, stick it...."

Going on Saturday. I found last year's show nice, but I have to agree there were lots of motorboats, in which I have no present interest. The MTCC will do a nice job of separating the different areas of the show so you don't have to walk through a million people to get to where you want to be. I'll be taking VIA to Toronto so that the city won't see any of my money, directly at least.

Going to head there myself Sat. Have not been there in approx 20 yrs unless I am thinking of a different sportsmen show?!!! I just remember the casting pond, caught a fish then watched some guy take it and club it.

Should be a good go I think, plus my crazy uncle is up from newfoundland and he is always a good time so Ill drag him along too.

from the show web site:

The Ontario OUT OF DOORS Hunting Hall
If you are passionate about hunting and the shooting sports, you owe yourself a visit to the Ontario Out of Doors Hunting Hall.

With over 50,000 square feet of space filled with manufacturers and retailers devoted exclusively to the shooting sports, the hall is a "must see" for avid firearm and bow hunters who want to track down the newest equipment and accessories for the upcoming season.

There's also the OFAH Hunting Seminar Stage and Archery Test Drive Centre as well as other features and entertainment of interest to avid shooting sports enthusiasts.

Went today, took the family, almost all of the fishing stuff is confined to the smaller North Hall. The family had a good time. The hunting hall is bigger than last year and they are selling guns.

A good deal I found was 10 CR123 batteries at the Fenix stand in the hunting hall. I have always enjoyed the Dog Show and this years big air demonstration is no different.

There is a new outfit in Port Credit selling Frost Mora's, other Norwegian laminated steel knifes and Grunsfors Burks axes. The have good fire steels for sale at their stands as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Canadian Forces represented at the show as well and very pleased that the CSSA are offering them a special deal to get their PAL.

And BTW there are handguns at the show!

Wow. Very interesting. I need some CR123s as well. You make me want to go now. I may talk the family into it since we are all home tomorrow. :)

I worked the show at the CSSA booth about four or five years ago and the hanguns were not replicas. Ed Burlew had his S&W X-frame on display.

Years ago, it use to be a great place to get deals on guns! Would never waste my time going again. Support your local gun shop and spend your money there!
