For all those people who have opinions on Tanfoglios and say a plastic STI is superior: No one has won an overall world IPSC championship with anything other than a steel pistol.

Why would you bring up this old thread? It was confusing before I looked at dates
Anyway, if anyone interested in the story: it seems that original poster (RHall) did get Tanfoglio, but was not satisfied with it, so I bought it from him in the end of 2008.
After treatment by Rob E it served me well through last season.
As you know today many of people who praised Tanfoglio back then switched to S*I, so I also got myself an STI Edge. My first match with is was a disaster, but I guess I'll give it couple more tries.

they are both great guns. Tanfoglio and sti. I have had both and regret selling my edge; although I really like my LImited Custom with Henning go fast do-dads!
Stock 2 9mm I have 2 now, and really like them. Both are now running like a champ. Tanfoglio 9mm small frame mags are the best CZ type mags out there,..(I have had my own shadow and did not feel the mags reliable if they got a little dirty)

What is the Stock 2 mags looks like. I saw from the pics at Freedom Ventures, they have only a thin metal base. Can we put some soft magazine base on? And where to get them?

You can put aluminum base pads, or rubber base pads,..or plastic or thin metal pads. Freedom ventures sells them. You can also get Chrome mags,...better IMHO.

Are there needs to change the main spring 13LBS and recoil spring 11LBS like the shadows?
Or the DA first shot/hammer for the stock II is light enough already?
What's the choice from Freedom Ventures for main springs and recoil springs?

OUt of the box it comes with a 10lb recoil spring.
