I currently have a non rest. cz858 that ive shot about 100 rounds through the thing is fun as hell, i oil and clean it for kicks at home as im sure many of you do, and its pretty damn accurate. I was thinking however, of trading it in for a restricted, i like the short barrel and the chrome lining. Can anyone help me think of positives v.s negatives of each, obviously a non-rest. is nice because you can take it pretty much anywhere with you. just curious as to what you prefer and why, and what makes a difference if any. thanks.

Restricted status in Canada blows. I hate the ATT as well as only going from home to range and back directly.
I'd stick with the 858.

However! When the short barrel conversions start appearing I will probably pick up a restricted as well :)
So, I guess your answer is... get both!

I love my restricted, because is in real military configuration.
The one with folding stock was destined to Artilery,Tank crews,Anti-terorist units.

Don't get me wrong, I do love the shorter barrel in every way over the 858 :D (I hate Canada's "restricted" laws).

Keep the non-restricted. Unless you only shoot at a range then go for the restricted.

I dunno about your situation but I got my rifles so I could shoot anywhere I wanted (within reason of course).
