Pretty cheap design i have made my own with much better design, it will actually lift moose or elk without the suspension on the vehicle threatening to give out.
No i don't have pic's the lift is stored at my uncles a few hours away don't know when i will get a chance to get any pic's. It is made of 2'' square tubing with a drop down stand on the bottom to take the weight of the animal instead of the truck suspension. It also has a spreader bar built in for cleaning of the animal. I think i might have the build sheet for it in my hunting stuff though i will have to look for it.

Cabela's and Bass Pro both have versions for sale, but neither has the drop down stand you mentioned. Considering these things sit out 2 feet further than a standard trailer hitch in order to clear the tailgate, compounding the stress applied to the receiver and the fact that most of these are class 3 hitches rated for 500lbs of tongue weight with a standard drawbar, means a large deer is pushing the designed limits of the receiver. I think a properly designed version like yours would be a winner.

My Father and I built one years ago, and like crazydave the weight is on the ground. I have a small boat winch on mine to hoist the deer up. I have had several people roughly copy the design, and adapt it suit them. Mine has been altered a few times when I changed vehicles. Once I had a mount fixed in the back corner of my old Ford 1/2 ton, and that worked great, but now it goes through the reciever hitch on my Malibu Max. Several deer have come home in the back of the hatch and not a drop of blood ever got on the car.
