I don't buy that argument...

If people are getting involved in the "politics" it's because they want to. The people that argue politics...are every often the ones that start the issues in the first place.

If you want to shoot...and ignore the BS...IPSC is just as good a choice as any of the action shooting sports.

I agree 100%. As an outsider looking in who is very involved in IDPA, I think I can speak for most of the IDPA shooters that I know, we do not at all enjoy seeing anyone in this sport getting into #### storms like this. There is no reason for this to be happening and as is typical with most BOD's, things get very stupid. I really hope this can be sorted out and IPSC can move forward and just enjoy shooting which it the "lost" reason we do this.

I don't get what are you suggesting, though I also don't get why you think that you'll get a straight answer somewhere else even so that would be the same people. If you move pile of crap from one room to another it won't reduce amount of crap, nor make it gold... I believe that if people are not willing to give a straight answer here, it would be the same any other place.

You won't or shouldn't get an answer here from IPSC Ontario because a public forum is not the place to discuss these things. If we had an IPSC Ontario forum then that would be a good start, but not here.

Pat sums it up nicely.

Just because you call it "the place" it won't give you any answers. If people are not willing to be open, place doesn't really matter.

You're not wrong, but at an official IPSC Ontario forum, I would hope that we'd have more open discussion among the members, BOD, and the club reps.

Ok...B.S. aside; I've paid my Barrie club membership fees and fees to IPSC Ontario and to CPCA for PPC... Since John is gone and they assume they can take away my clubs IPSC rep then let me post this.

Dearest IPSC BOD WHen are you going to get off your fat asses and get us some more patches? We also need some Batteries for our timers, and the storage cabinet and shelves you have assumed full responsibility for are a mess.

Please be considerate for the other people who share your assumed storage room and have it cleaned up before the PPC League, the Cowboys and Kids league do it for you and send you the bill.

Chop chop, things were NEVER like this when John was in charge. :kickInTheNuts:

Maybe the BOD does not want to address this at all. As a paid IPSC Ont. member I feel I have the right to hear the truth from start to finish. This is not the perfect place to address this, but it is what we have. They are not just punishing John or Kent they are punishing all IPSC Ont members. There is most certainly history behind all of this.

Short of you going straight to the horses mouth. You probably won't get one... And questioning the powers that be, probably won't win you any favors..

But that is patently unacceptable.

For Justice to be done as they say it must be SEEN to be done.

Thus there should be a complete and PUBLIC (to IPSC members at least) accounting of the proceedings against John and anyone else who has been diciplined in this matter.

I didn't realize that we elected a board that would keep "secrets"from it's voter base........let's get everything out in the open so this mess can be fixed up......I am betting though, that this has now gone beyond the point of no return, I wish it wasn't so,but it certainly sounds like it!

I was really looking forward to shooting ON provincials at Barrie this year (along with many other shooters).

It's such a shame. :(

There is always way out.
I think BOD is surprise with all the support Barrie/John is getting and don't know how to respond. It is my guess only.
They will eventually respond, I hope sooner then later.

My club has not fired me, and I will do my best Monday to get those things done for the Barrie Club. I will still do my duties untill a repacement is found.

Ohhh.... my.... god..... *shakes head*... deja f-ing vu

I'm sure everyone involved will do what they think is right, so all we can do is sit back, watch it unfold, and try to deal with the end result.

Won't happen

Never say never my good man. Stranger things have happened and there is nothing more dangerous to an organization than a pissed off and militant membership. Just ask the Teamsters of Canada they arbitrarily canned our stewards for not towing the party line so we as the membership voted them back in. Then kicked their butts to the curb & took the entire membership over to CAW.

I would strongly disagree.

For issues of paramount importance (and I happen to think that this qualifies) it is vital for the membership to be as involved as possible. This is our collective at stake here.

That said I hope and trust that all individuals of whom I have the greatest respect on all sides will come together and come to an ammicable solution.

We can then correct any deficiencies visa vis the constitution and or IPSC Ontario Policies to ensure that something of this nature does happen again.

Sitting back watching and waiting does not get things changes if they are broken.

I must say I strongly agree. Sitting back and watching only makes for more problems in the future. This situation left unchallenged could result in a BOD that in the future has more power over it's members than it is capable of handling with proper restraint. I for one have no desire to belong to an organization were simply stateing that without the help of a particular indivdualI cannot acheive the completion of a task results in an all out attack on myself and that other person.
