IPSC @ Barrie and No Provincials

What the hell is going on with IPSC here in Ontario? First we have the change to the the magazine rule "fit the box" horse#### ! Then we lose the Metric target and now we hear that the "ruling class" at IPSC have decided that Barrie will not host the Provincials. And to make matters worse, the match director has been "fired".
Maybe someone should tell these ####ing morons at IPSC that the success of IPSC falls on the match directors. RO's and the competitors not the directors or guys like Bud and his cronies! Unless this matter is resolved and a complete explanation is forthcoming I do not plan on attending the Provincials. Mario Valentine

As far as incorporation goes, ask for the Ont Corp number.
I did see a troubling spot in the 1996 "By-Law No. 1"/ Constitution
Under Members, Paragraph 48, Each current member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote on each question arising at any special or general meeting of the members. Proxy votes shall not be allowed.
However
Corporations Act, R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER C.38
84.(1)Every shareholder, including a shareholder that is a corporation, entitled to vote at a meeting of shareholders may by means of a proxy appoint a person, who need not be a shareholder, as the shareholder’s nominee to attend and act at the meeting in the manner, to the extent and with the power conferred by the proxy.

most of the 5 of our BOD were pledging to start a separate forum from this, where ON IPSC matters would be discussed.
I know at least one individual who can run this forum, so probably BOD.
How long after the election, 3+ months. What has been done?
We waiting for official response from BOD, I hope it will happen soon, but what is soon?
This is the only place right now where we can speak and argue.

what doesn't make a good idea? Stayed informed?
If we have an IPSC forum, we could communicate issues between IPSC members only.
We don't have to hide behind nick names.
SD can address problems right away if needed.
On CGN is an open season. Anyone can post. *DPA guys, who think people left IPSC because politics and went to *DPA
or so, they love to see us arguing, why?We need to know, or at least those who care, what is going on.
On official IPSC site, there is not enough information, sometimes the site is not updated for months.
I am true believer in communication and keeping everyone inform.
I think staying well inform can only make us stronger, with less rumors, less misinterpretation.
In this conflict no one will come a winner. At the end of the day one site will loose. I hate to see that. I think we need to stay strong and together,
and still hope, that present ON IPSC BOD will find a solution to this 'technical mess'.

Craig is right when he suggests that it would the same rants, just fewer people. Still the reality is IPSC Ontario is a large group of geographicly isolated people clustered in a few corners of a very large province. There are going to be grumblings and miscommunications. Having a members only forum so people can get #### off thier chest and hopefuly get the real story or a straight answer is a good idea.
Put another way, if it doesn't exist within IPSC Ont, does anyone really think it won't sprout up somewhere more public?
Sad but true -
A lot of IPSC shooters over the years left to go to IDPA etc. because of the politics -
I don't buy that argument...
If people are getting involved in the "politics" it's because they want to. The people that argue politics...are every often the ones that start the issues in the first place.
If you want to shoot...and ignore the BS...IPSC is just as good a choice as any of the action shooting sports.
I don't get what are you suggesting, though I also don't get why you think that you'll get a straight answer somewhere else even so that would be the same people. If you move pile of crap from one room to another it won't reduce amount of crap, nor make it gold... I believe that if people are not willing to give a straight answer here, it would be the same any other place.

Just because you call it "the place" it won't give you any answers. If people are not willing to be open, place doesn't really matter.
