brass cleaner solution

has anyone used something other than brass cleaner solution in there tumbler? I hate paying $19.00 for a bottle, there has to be a cheap cleaner that works as good.

Exactly........and if you're tumbling a lot, go to an abrasives supplier. I just bought a 50 lb bag of crused walnut for less than 25 bucks....can't remember the exact price. Go get a bottle of NuFinish car wax and away we go. Brasso will work as well, but I think the car wax actually works better, and it's cheaper.

Oh....before "they" start up again.....BRASSO WILL N-O-T hurt your brass.

i agree with the Nufinish, someone at my range told me to try it out on my brass and it really works great.
