I was wondering if you guys might know of which entry level scopes I should avoid. Looking around locally I have narrowed my choices to Nikon or Bushnell but figured that I'd better ask what will give me my best value.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a Nikon, and I really like it. I also bought a Pentax Gameseeker from Ebay and was very very surprised at how bright and clear it was for around $130. I heard rumors that they are made by Burris.

:agree: A lot of scope for the $$.

I just traded both my 3200 in for Burris FF II. On sale now by one of our CGN dealers for just $255 tax in and shipped, it is just a bit over your $200 limit, but I find them much clearer in low light situations compared to the 3200. But I have to admit I do like the rainguard on the Bushnells.

I found the Burris FF II on sale at Canadian Tire for $215. I bought one and so did my buddy. Deal and a half!

if you look hard you should be able to find a Leupold vx11 3-9 for $200. Seen 3 of them trade hands for that price in the last 6 weeks. Heck of a buy when you can find em.

What about the Bushnell Legend in a 3x9? Are these considered a decent scope in this price range?

Thanks again for all your replies.
