Ruger SR-22

Sorry i'm still a bit confused, It comes withOUT the adjustable stock, but I can get an adjustable stock and it will STILL be non-restricted?

Do the adjustable and non-adjustable stocks look similar? or does the non-adjusting stock look like the fixed full stock on the VTR??

Yes it should still be non-restricted! If I'm wrong somebody will correct me quickly.

Yes the adjustable and non-adjustable stocks look similar. P&D uses an after-market M4 adjustable stock I believe.

The adjustable stock looks exactly the same as the solid stock.
I paid for mine yesterday at P and D. I bought the solid stock based only on budget. I want the adjustable stock on mine but I couldnt afford the extra 125$. That will have to come later.

The one thing I myself dont understand is why they have t ship a gun with a solid stock then allow us the ability to put on the adjustable aftermarket and still remaim non-Rest. but wont ship with a flash suppressor?

If i put the Flash suppressor on as an after market does that change me guns status? (other than looking way sweeter)
If it doesnt why would they ship the SR 22 with the no suppressor and a solid stock. Money possible?? Flash suppressors and new stock would put another 150.00$ why not jsut charge 650 with no changes.

ok, thanks for that.:dancingbanana:

I got a real craving for one of these now:D. Hope I can get one in the near future.....

I don't care if it adjusts or not, gun just looks a lot better with that style of stock over the fixed full stock that the VTR carries.

The gun is not exportable from the U.S. if it has a collapsible stock and/or flash hider. What we get up here is the California/export compliant version.

Collapsible stocks and flash hiders have been a no-go for export from the U.S. for some time now.

Stupid U.S. export laws!

:)

Just a note on accuracy. The SR-22 is a 10/22 wrapped in a nordic components stock system, and AR-15 grip, stock, forearm. All three are interchangeable with any AR-15 parts (though the forearm should be free floating, otherwise you need adapters).

I have had one of the nordics for about 4 years now. Mine has a Tactical Solutions barrel (16.5"), and at 100 yrds it shoots very well, within 3 " (which is pretty good for a semi-auto in .22). That group would likely be smaller if I had a proper benchrest.

It takes all 10/22 mags. I really like my little fabsports fs-556 as well, I'm torn about which one I like more.

Oh you mean the special commemorative Pierre Elliot Trudeau SR-22.
The one that Ruger begrudgingly bastardized to be able to sell here in
Banada at the hands of the RCMP. I think you get one free when you
join the Liberal party. Have fun with yours.

The version we have here in Canada has nothing to do with Canadian Law; it has to be that way to leave the U.S. as per U.S. export law. Get you facts right before you go off on a rant. You look slightly foolish. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up for me GIGGDY. Don't know if it makes me feel any better or not though. I will edit my post so as not to offend the butcher.

The info supplied following my post is correct. The SR-22 SC is the model that was designated for export. Give credit to Ruger when they built the original SR-22, they knew this model would not be exportable out of the US so they changed the two things that were an issue (collapsible stock and flash hider). Ruger sells lots of 10-22's world wide and built the SR-22 SC model along with the standard SR-22 and had them in stock from the start with the only delay being the export permits for this new item. Still no firm ETA on guns but hoping for next two weeks. I don't think I have seen as many back orders (pre paid) in our system for any gun as we now have for this model. We have been promised a large shipment but past experience tells me we won't get all the guns we ordered. Phil.

P of PDent, if I purchase one of these lovely wee .22's can I change out the barrel?(I have a GM heavy barrel) Is the trigger pull stock 13-14 pounds or whatever it is? Thanks in advance,

i saw one of these with at the range a few weeks back...looks as if the fixed stock is just a 6 position collapsable stock with pins in it to make it fixed.

couldnt you guys just buy the gun and knock the pins out at home?

Yes you can exchange the barrel for another one however try try original barrel first as accuracy has been decent. Trigger pull is the same as on the standard model. Phil.

That's what I thought initially however after you get out the pins (they are hard to remove) you are faced with the buffer tube not having the longitudinal channel and holes that would accept the sliding portion of the stock. Also the release handle and locater pin and spring are missing. The machining cost would not justify the cost of just replacing the unit. Phil.

Do you have any aftermarket triggers for this thing that has pull like 3 - 4 pounds compared to stock?
