What Do You Think Of Millet Rifle Scopes?

Been there Max. I have a 6-24 x56, I believe. Clear and stable, for the money. I've heard stories (no personal proof though) of them being not as complacent about recoil then say, a Leupold, but they don't cost near as much either, and if you keep it off your earschplittenloudenboomer, you should be ok. - dan

Kinda a bump to the top.

Kinda looking a these again for a temporary solution for my 338 Lapua.

Millet's website claims they are designed for the 338s and 50s. Been on a few sniper type forums reading and still not a conclusive answer.........

My first choice is a nightforce 5.5X22. But at $2000 right now, not an option. Still need a scope for a 260 aswell. Kinda thinkin Sightron.

Any thoughts?

I own one of the millett 4-16x56 trs-1 models. I love it. It's lived on both a 7mm rem mag and 300 win mag - both I shoot with "rather warm" loads with heavy bullets. Currently it's on a 260AI - can't say enough about how clear it is. I have since put a 6-24x50mm tactical bushnell 4200 on my 7mm mag - and it's gone in for "fixin" twice now....Millett has gone back on and keeps ticking.

I have heard negative reviews on the rings that come with that millett LRS 35mm monster...and 35mm rings may be a tough problem to cure. 30mm not so tough - Burris sig zee or burris tactical and they hold like a weld.

I have also been warned (straight from Millett) that there are currently some cloned scopes floating around on Ebay - and apparently they SUCK. So likely watch where you buy one also.

I also own a couple older buck gold 6-25x56 mil dot units on 223 and my 10/22 - also very clear - and hold zero just fine - and my 10/22 has a history of chewing scopes a bit for some reason.

My .02 - buy one. I plan on buying another (or two or three)

We carry the Millett line and have this model in stock...$607. We have not had any returns on Millett products and if required the warranty is done by Bushnell (who owns this brand). We have found this to be a good long range range scope that prices below the Bushnell 6500 series with near similar features and resolution Phil.

I may put in a request for Chris and Diane to bring one up to the Dawson Creek gunshow. Gonna do some more nosing around and see what I can come up with. If they stand up to the Lapua, I'm willing to try one.

Chris is not doing the Gun Shows this year as he is more involved in training. Dianne and Dennis will be coming up so let us know before the show if you want one. Phil.

Well.............

Got my scope put on my earschplittenloudenboomer (as Dan calls it.....) and had it out tonight. Stood up to 20 factory rounds of Hornady. Scope isn't as clear as I'd like but for the money, will do.

Was doing a barrel break in and cleaing every round up till 16 shots and then shot a few pairs before cleaning. Couldn't get the shots to hit where I'd wanted. Had a few holes touching. Normally this would be good, but I had made adjustments between the two shots........

Will try again and see how things fly.

Thanks Max. Talked to P & D people. They seem to like it. But some bad reviews on the net. Anybody else has had these scopes?

I have the Millett LRS-1 on my Savage F/TR .308. I love it. Decent glass, the scope retyrns to zero no problem. Another member on this board who tried mine liked it so much he also bought one. I got mine from Frontier, I believe I paid 630ish shipped to my door.

I'm shooting a TRS 4-16x-50mm and have no complaints so far. Its sitting on my .243 and has held true for approx. 75 shots. The scope is very clear and i like how easy all the adjustments are able to read even laying behind the rifle. I have yet to test out the illuminated reticle yet but imagine it will be a nice feature for those coyotes at dusk.
