Crow hunting! Tips, tricks, tactics, stories!

you're in saint john?

i've wanted to go crow hunting for years but have never had the chance

and i'm pretty sure you can shoot them with rifles.... would be a good time to try out my .223 anyway :D

There's a website called Crow Busters that has some pretty good info. The hate mail section can be entertaining. Link

Not so much a winter nesting spot but feeding spot likely, crows gather in large numbers in the winter and when they find a spot they like they pile in to feed.

Around here all of our crow hunting is close to rivers, like less than a mile, usually less than a few hundred yards. They tend to follow the rivers from their nesting spots in the city.

Since when? I know that is probably going to happen next year, but I have never seen that. I have shot them with my rifle many times (always on the ground) The only law I have ever seen was no buckshot.

I am terribly sorry. I am mistaken. I says it for game birds, no mention of crows. My apologies.

Why is it going to happen? I think hunting is already over regulated here.

Sometimes you just have to justify the job you are doing...

Crows will be a game bird next season, not sure how that will affect us, no sunday shooting, no rifles, a possible season what else?

Maybe a bag limit?

Could you shoot crows before without a hunting license? If they realized they were losing money, then new regulations wouldn't be an 'if' but a 'when' question.

What's next? Squirrel season?

Actually squirrels are illegal to shoot on PEI, You need a trapper's license to harvest squirrels.

Not much money in selling hunting licenses at $10 each, how many crow shooters wouldn't already have a hunting license? not too many.

I am not sure why they plan to regulate it but the decision was made by the same guy that designated coyotes as a fur bearer and won't let us shoot cormorants.
