Trijicon ACOG

What I would like to know is which ones are banned for export by the US government. I'd really like to get a 6X in a few months. I've only seen one located in Canada on EE last month and I was too poor to buy it.

This list is not 100% complete but gives you an idea. Anything not on the list State Dept will not issue export permit

3x sights All TA33 models available

3.5x All TA11 except for any H or J variants.

4x TA01, TA01B, TA01LAW TA31 TA31A TA31 DOC TA31DOCW TA31TRD, TA31TRDW TA31RMR.

Heaven forbid that Canadian civilians have a chevron or horseshoe recticle in a 3.5 or 4X !!

I have a copy of the US control restrictions on Trijicons. Can email if anyone is interested. Yeah, it is all the cool ones, of course :(

We carry the Trijicon line but have been back ordered on many models for a few months. The only Acogs we have are TA11F (3.5x35 .223 BDC/FT Chevron BAC) at $1376 and TA33G-H (3x30 Green Horseshoe .223 ballistic reticle W/TA 60 mnt.) $1075. More Acogs on order and some Accupoints in stock. Phil.

Ta01 law?

Anyone know where I can get an ACOG TA01LAW?

Hey, do you plan to mount the TA01 LAW on top of the A2 detachable carry handle on your AR? If so......well...reconsider. I went down this avenue awhile back and came to the same result that the LAPD SWAT team did....the TA01 LAW ACOG is too large and sits fairly high when mounted on the carry handle with the supplied TA30 mount. Cheek weld upon aiming is a real issue with this config. If your heart is set on this particular model ACOG, then go with the TA51 mount and install it directly onto the flat top rail on the receiver....foregoing the carry handle.

I really like the ACOG on the carry handle as do LAPD SWAT. They now run the TA44-4 mini ACOG with the same reticle as the TA01 LAW. I sold my TA01LAW some time ago and recemtly bought the TA44-4. It is a much faster sight to run being 1.5X16 instead of 4X32. I find it quicker to acquire with not having to deal with excessive magnification. I prefer shooting to 100 yards though and you may have longer range in mind? Here is a pic of my setup (basically the same as what LAPD SWAT currently use):

Carry handle mounts seem to be a band aid solution if you have the option to mount to the flat top. Just my opinion...

I was going to mount it on the flattop receiver. Where did you get your TA44-4 and can it be mounted on the flattop? I am still researching the mounting system. Nice rifle BTW.

I've bought two TA31F's over the past few years off eBay without any trouble, YMMV.
Cheers

When they need warranty work - they will run the serial number and figure out whom they were sold to. They may or may not come back due to export regulation.

True, but the price was right. Kinda' like deciding whether or not to buy an extended warranty for electronics... bit of a gamble I guess. Both long sold anyhow so moot point :p.
Cheers
