Case lube, not what it used to be?

I use diesel truck oil, forget the brand name (ill look) we put it in all our truck and its the good stuff. Any ways a little goes along ways lube one case with you finger and ill go at least 15 case with out worrying

I have been using Dillon Case Lubricant, lanolin & isopropyl alcohol that I get from P&D in Edmonton. I put 2 or 3 squirts into the sides a zip-lock bag add 100 - 223 or 50 larger cases, close bag and roll around to coat brass. I dump them out into a box and leave them until alcohol evaporates. If you don't the alcohol seems to make them stick in the dies. I haven't had a stuck case or dented shoulder even when sizing 223 down to 222.

TDH for me (Tractor Differential Hydraulic) oil. Thin it with a touch of acetone.

i had 2 bottles of Hornady spray lube that was not working at all everything got stuck a friend even tried it in case it was me doing something wrong , i emailed Hornady and they sent me 3 tubs of uniqe lube and a ball cap, the uniqe does the job i did get a email from Hornady informing me of a error in the mixing process darn good service ,

Had the same thing happen with Hornady spray lube when I tried it about 12 months ago.
Used brand new Hornady dies in .300 WSM (cleaned) and tried some of their lube just for giggles.
The first three I cycled through the Rockchucker felt as if I was tearing the case in half. Didnt stick but had to have been awful close to it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll drop Hornady a note.

The spray lube has worked great for me, used on 223 and 308 cases for FL sizing.

I have used the oil (ink type) pads that you don't like, for more than forty years, and never had a problem. :D

Ted

Same with me Ted. I lube up the pad, line up anywhere from 10 to 15 cases on it at a time depending on how big they are and roll them with the palm of my hand. Pull them off one at a time, usually drag the case mouth, mouth first, a smidge over the pad to get a hair of lube into the case mouth, then size them. Off the press, quick wipe with a cloth I keep handy, and into the loading block. Then onto the next one. Can burn through them fairly quickly now. Took a little bit of practice, and a couple of dented shoulders, figuring out just how much lube was too much but now it's easy as can be.
