Anyone try the new SAN pistol grip on their Classic Green/ Black Special yet?

It looks like a dream come true, no more Hogue Handall sleeve slippin' around.

Typical to SAN parts, grab your ankles and lube up - the price at Gun Factory is $229CHF ($218CAN).

Let me know if you've tried one, I am wondering if it's worth the sting... :kickInTheNuts:

Very well known for wood grip series for Sig Pistols, they also make grips for semi auto rifles.

Ahhh... thanks Greg. I remember seeing his stocks for the P210 but always thought they were Nills grips (with an S), since that was the way it was written (I guess it must have been Nill's). Thanks for the link, he sure has some top-quality stuff...
Cheers
All I saw was "New Swiss Arms PE90 Pistol" on the main opage and hurriedly clicked on it.

Drat!
:p LOL sorry man... no such luck

It might be nice if someone with some photo-shopping skills could make a transparency comparing the grips.

IIRC, the Nill grip is supposed to allow easier manipulation of the safety with your thumb as the radius of the grip is scalloped differently.

Me too! Here are the other two offered at Nill's website (thanks again Greg);

IIRC, the Nill is supposed to allow easier manipulation of the safety with your thumb as the radius of the grip is scalloped differently, allowing people with normal thumbs to reach the safety WHILE the gun is in the shoulder. I don't know this to be true first hand, so take that with a grain of salt.

Still. It is an interesting premise that would make it worth every penny to me. Plus, the guys at Gun Factory are top notch to deal with. Rapid communication and shipping rivaling the best I've experienced here in Canada.

I might buy and try a set on this SBR some time this summer.

Too broke right now this close to tax time to make the leap to try for myself.

That grip is beyond fugly....The all wood one with palmrest is ok, but the other two look hideous. Karl Nill is great to order from direct, but you need to complete a quick end user certificate and mail it to them before they ship. They provide the paperwork for you and its very easy to fill out.

I just ordered one of those wood pistol grips. I agonized over the wood grain and black and decided black.
Sweet, let us know here when you install it, I am anxious to hear a first-hand impression.

LOL... you might be right, I haven't quite decided yet. I learned my lesson on quick judgment from the SAN PE90 - when I first saw them I couldn't understand why anyone would want one, it looked that 'fugly'. Now, well...

I think the stained walnut would look good on the Black Special and the black-dyed walnut might look good on the Classic Green. I've always been a sucker for finger grooves (knives, guns, whatever) and checkering/ stippling really floats my boat.

To each their own, as they say ;).
Cheers
