Toronto Sportsmen Show???

went yeasterday, for me it was a good time, lots of ground pounding though :)

im happy I got to finger the Savage and Remington, love the SPS Tac, though the bolt looked like it was already rusting by the head and the welding spots looked rough, bit surpriced that they displayed Savage model 25 that looked like it needed bedding, the thumb hole stock was a nice though, lined up better then the Remington even if the safety is in acward position
 
I enjoyed my time there. Went two days in a row... reason being was my family spent to much time in the fishing and not into the hunting so I had to go back. Plus I got a free ticket so I wasn't losing anything!

Lots of stuff really over priced and some good deals. Lots of dummies dry firing bows though.

Remington had a great set up I think and Le Barons was decent but hard to talk to anyone there because of the crowds.

Met an Outfitter from Newfoundland who turned out to be a distant cousin! Small world.

All in all I had a great time.

Any one try the Kobe beef hamburgers? really good really expensive but knowing that type of beef and how hard it is to get in Canada im not all that suprised.

Also heard someone from OFAH mention on the stage when I was walking by and please correct me if I am wrong because I walked in mid conversation type thing that they are looking to open up Elk hunting soon!

Kobe Beef is BS - Japan doesn't have enough free space for their cattles to run around, so they are all stuck inside a pen. These cattles got no where to go, so they became so unhealthy fat starts getting deposited into their muscle.

Think of yourself sitting in front of the TV all day long, do nothing but eating......

Of course, being the "master" of packaging and creator of marketing hype, the Japanese turned the disadvantage of their beef into a selling feature. THe premium price tag is absolutely marketing engineering for their own consumers because Japan used to engage in protectionism (against North American Beef). Then the other asians picked up the hype in the 80's in a rush of Japanese worship before the Japan economic bubble bursted. People in hong kong and Taiwan got rich back then, and they were rushing to find the expensive stuff to eat - that's when sushi and all these japanese stuff got popular.

It is pretty sad we are picking up a Japanes fad that is 20 years outdated. I will never ever buy Kobe beef - why will I eat 3rd grade cattle while we have the best?

Aren't they massaged all the time and fed beer? Not a bad life for an animal to be put to death and chopped up.

I didn't mind it, I had much worse such as McDonalds which is supposed to be Grade A Canadian Beef! Would I buy it again for that price.. NO. But it wasn't bad.
