How to remove HK MR223 barrel?

Assuming its no different that the Hk416...

Remove rail
remove piston assy
use proprietary HK barrel wrench and remove.

Hk does not sell their barrel nut wrenches to civlians or LE agencies.

I know your trying to cut down a MR223 barrel, and I cannot stress to you in so many ways not to do it.

The MR223 barrel is heat pressed into the upper as well as secured with the barrel nut. It is a bit of a different process than the standard 416. This is done to enhance accuracy as the MR223 is sold as a target rifle (they are very accurate, more so than the 416. Mine shot a bit under 2 MOA @ 500meters, off the mag in a Service Rifle Match, with factory ammo).

Trying to take off the MR223 barrel might be a bit difficult.

Someone from Europe trimmed down the barrel at HKRPO. So it is doable. May have to heat up the receiver as AL expands more than Steel - so the barrel will come out easier.

huh? to cut the barrel here in Canada is actually illegal and would make the gun prohibited. I have someone who may be willing to make me a barrel for this rifle. Won`t know for sure though untill he gets back from Germany.
