Ok, so heading to the calgary gunshow next week and I need to know what to bring, plan on picking up a couple of firearms so to make sure I'm not forgetting anything before the 3 hour drive there. So:
1. Pal (of course)
2. Lots of cash
3. Gun I'm taking for some guy to work on
4. Extra gun cases
5. Notepad

So, what else should I bring?

Make a wish list of parts you need. New production bits and pieces can be found on the internet. Guns are usually overpriced at shows. Books are another good thing to browse so you can get an idea if something is worth waiting for. Mostly, I go to find the odd parts I need for whatever gun is on the workbench at the time. I also have a short list of ammuntion that needs to be added to the powder magazine. You never know when a case of 30-06 in M1 clips will be staring you in the face with a Buy Me sign that is way below market price.

If you are looking for an"XYZ", don't be afraid to ask at every table if the seller has an "XYZ". It may be hidden under something else, or still in a box. If you are looking for something really obscure, you could make a sign indicating what you are looking for and wear it around your neck...loads of folks will see it and it may put you in the right direction! I learned this trick from roaming the Portland Antique Car Swapmeets!
