The worse rifle you ever owned

Remington LVSF in .204
-would not extract spent sheels most of the time and when it did it did not eject
-saftey when worked would fire a round

Had three smiths work on it and finally sent it back to the dealer. Remington Cusomer service actually told me to " deal with the problem" I will never own another Remington.

Cheers!!

I'm curious to hear some stories of the absolutely crappiest rifle you ever owned and why it was that way. First hand info only please.

Lakefield Mark 3 autoloader .22 cal

The rear sights are never on target as they are always moving- only one screw holding them in so the whole thing swings all the time.

It jams up all the time unless I clean it constantly, which is a pain in the A*S because it takes screw drivers and the screw heads are largely stripped. Its not like taking a SKS apart, it takes time and effort, too much time for firing only 60 rounds before it starts jamming up again.

Im thinking of ditching this gun and keeping the bolt action .22cal.

Are there any .22 cals that are easy to "field strip" that dont require TOOLS???

:(

YES I am currently cleaning this gun.....jammed up all day on me LOL.

Henry Varmint Express .17 HMR. Shoots all over the place with no ryme or reason. I thought it might be the scope, so I changed it and it still did it. No pattern at all to compensate for. An hmr should not be a fire one shot every ten minutes to be accurate. Anyone want to buy it. Cheap.

Savage 110 hands down. Grouped like a shotgun and clunky. My son had a Remington 710 and it was actually a good shooter.

My wife's mini 14 is more effective at scaring the coyotes that take her poultry than it is at hitting them.

Most accurate factory guns? - My tikkas - no contest.

My worst rifle ever was a Rem Model 700 BDL SS DM in 7mmRem Mag with a muzzle brake. Friggin loud and dangerous for anyone around. Remington came out with their own version of a muzzle brake. I think it lasted less then 2 year's on the market. Got rid of it real quick. Should of kept the Baush and Lomb scope though.

Another former Mini 14 owner...

Stainless ranch rifle, 180 series. Worst trigger I've ever seen on any firearm; and scoped and sandbagged off the bench it grouped 4"-5" with the five kinds of ammo I tried with it. After significant reasearch on the internet and chatting to other mini-14 owners, this is apparently fairly NORMAL???. You've got to be kidding me. I traded it straight across for an NIB Norinco M14 here on the EE, which was technically a significant trade downwards, but I got a much better rifle than I traded away. Three weeks after I traded it away, I saw it for sale on the EE again!

I know there are dedicated Mini owners out there, but I still cannot believe anyone could accept 4"-5" groups from a $900 rifle as being even close to okay....

Armalite 180B...
POS.

major failure/breakage after less than 50rnds.

Cheaply made and inaccurate, but hey.. what do you expect rom a $900 rifle pseudo mil. type rifle

In late 80' I bought LH aluminum receiver POS Sauer 200 with 2 interchangable barrels and 2 magazines. First I striped couple 6-48 base mounting holes (tread to fine in AL) then the inconsistent trigger pull (from 8oz to 6lbs) then barrel mounting clamp broke off the receiver. After 5 years of light use all I have now is $1500 tomato stake. No warranty service. Do not even try to get some help from either dealer or importer ....they both su*k.

squires bingham m16r. LOL. The f**king extractor would go flying off into the woods and the carry handle let go of the receiver when i was carrying it.

lakefield 64b

I owned this one for awhile. It would go bang. bang. bang.... full auto.... empty magazine without prediction. it was kinda fun to shoot but no good on chickens..... took it to the smith for a new sear and then I sent er packing.:D
