I know... "if you want a precision rifle go buy yourself a nice bolt gun". I know that most military rifles are not designed for precision shooting, but that does not mean they can not or should not be used for precision shooting. Look at what some guys do with the M14 or AR15. For the record I did buy the tavor for its more traditional usage, short range fun, but gophers are pretty tiny and it is nice to be able to hit them at a longer distance if the opportunity presents itself. Speaking of the M14, the $1500 2nd Generation JAE stocks have an optional barrel tensioner which allows you to adjust the tension it puts on the barel and optimize your group size - and it looks very much like the 'band' under the tavor handguard; the difference is that with the JAE the tensioner can be pulled down by tightening bolts on the lower side of the stock. If the band on the tavor barrel can be adjusted it might be a simple and free way to get a little extra accuracy.
