Here's a couple of pics of my A-5 equipped target rifle. Despite being a poor picture, the first pic shows the rail a bit better. Note the spacer I installed to prevent the butt from closing from its set position. IMHO, the stem could be a bit longer and would be better if it adjusted on a threaded rod with a lock nut like the M-24. That is my only complaint of an otherwise very good stock.

Why do 1/2 these A5 McMillan stocks have cheek welds that are from the actual stock and others that are attached onto the cheek weld area? I think I'm gonna be saving up some serious coin and purchasing a PGW Coyote .308 but want the stock that actually moves up and down on the stock and not the attached cheek weld type ... :D

The integral cheek piece is a little more expensive, but when you're spending that kind of money anyway, you might as well have the one you prefer. If I had it to do again, I might be tempted to go PGW route myself, although I designed my rifle as a single shot with a long throat so that heavy bullets could be loaded without being seated down into the powder volume of the case. So for my application a magazine isn't particularly useful, but if you are planning to use this thing as a hunting rifle, the caribou won't be safe. Now that PGW is carrying Premier Reticle scopes, you don't even have to fuss about finding the right scope for your Coyote, you'll get the rifle ready to go to work.

I definately want to look into a PGW Coyote and would want a stock with the "integral cheek piece" as I don't like the one that is added onto the stock. Now to save some serious coin for a nice rifle. I still may just purchase a A-5 for my Remington 700 in .308. :D

Hey RePete, What is the brand/model of that rail you have on the forend?

Thanks.

Reason: I was wondering about those side rail-mounted bipods people have on their AR's. In the off-chance that there are any decent ones available, I had a thought that a setup similar to the sako TRG could be achieved. I think I would rather not have something protruding out of the bottom of the forend. I was looking at having a versapod stud bedded out the forend to solve this, but they can only put that in the a4 as the a5 is too thin. I like the forend on the A5, and the rail could be a solution. Now all I have to find is a decent bipod like that, though i doubt that one exists.

This is the color stock/barrel combo I want in a PGW Coyote(308), however I don't want the cheek riser attached ... I would like the integral cheek riser built into the stock ... beautiful rifles! :D

p.s. RePete, did you buy the whole kit with case, magazines, cleaning kit, etc that comes without the nightvision and suppressor? "catworks" on the board is a friend of mine how had a PGW Timberwolf 338 just like this with complete kit but no night vision and suppressor ... it was a beauty to shoot ... :D

Just when you getting over the A5, now he had to stick that picture in your Face again, that why I am alway broke.
