Smurf & Wesson M&P .45

I've got close to 1,000 rounds through mine - so here goes:
1) Easily the smallest grip available on a double column 45 - if you've handled a 9 or 40 it feels identical
2) Mine has been totally reliable
3) trigger pull is heavier out of the box than my 9 was, I've polished it up but it's still heavy - next step will be an Apex sear
4) Capable of exceptionally good accuracy, but the trigger weight is an impediment
5) if you don't have an Uplula, go get one - if you think the 9/40 mags are hard to fill, you're in for a shock
6) Parts are not as readily available - mags are scarce, and so far spares are uncommon here.

I really like the gun, the recoil is actually soft even with full power 230 JHP, very fast follow up shots are a breeze. Apart from the trigger weight and having to order and wait for spares there really isn't a down side to it.

I liked mine when I had it as was one of the best fitting for my hand.

But if you get one, I'd recommend not getting the thumb safety unless your really need/want it. It works, but isn't anywhere near as positive on/off as a 1911. I've said it before but that safety went on and off with lighter pressure than flicking a room light switch - didn't trust it to stay on or off.

Thanks all for the thoughts - I am seriously considering getting one to replace my P220, and have yet to find any seriously negative reviews. For the money, they seem like a great deal.

Cheers,

Neal
