What Are You Shooting in Your M&P9?

The one I had was pretty reliable. I only shot reloads thru it and never had a problem (but a new to shooting female made it jam twice  )

Trigger seems less gritty now that I've got a few hundred rounds through it. Not too bad at all. I'm used to shooting a 1911, so the DA is something to get used to.

The trigger will continue to improve until you hit 1300 or so rounds, eventually you'll end up with a long take up, a nice clean let off and a short distinct reset. They are actually easy to fire very quickly without losing too much accuracy. I'm at a total of 10,000 rounds through 2 9mm's (1,500 through the first, the rest through my current 9) I've fired everything from 1960's CF issue through Winchester Ranger LE 147 Subsonic and never had an issue of any type mostly mine gets 124 grain truncated cone lead reloads at medium velocity, works perfectly. The trick to reliability is you have to shoot the *ss off them, run them dirty, lots of drawing from the holster, shooting as fast as you can hit, clean them every second range trip (if they need it or not ;)). It seems the guys who have issues just aren't abusive enough - I actually had to break freezing rain off mine once (smacked it on the bench) to shoot it, worked fine. :D

Hey There

My M&P eats everything. I have fired AE 147gr, Wolf 124TMJs, Fiocci 9mm, Winchester winclean and now I am shooting lead reloads of my own 147gr with 3.4gr of win231 powder(light load) and it even ejects them like no problem.

Interestingly enough I am currently experimenting with how long it will take for the gun to FTF or FTE without cleaning it and I think I am going to give up cause at 4000 rounds I can't get it to fail even with my weak reloads..... Plus I just can't stand myself anymore not cleaning it!;) Good luck with yours.

BTW if someone finds the trigger job link please post it here. I did a google search and I can't seem to find it. Thanks,

Takman.

Well, I put nearly 200 rounds of that Winchester Ranger 147gr through my M&P9 last night and wasn't impressed. It shot OK, didn't mind it, but it didn't seem to be as accurate as some other ammo I've ran through it. Next up is some CCI Blaser 115gr, some WinClean 124gr and whatever else I can get my hands on. lol

Then again, I'm not exactly a good enough shot with this gun yet to be doing ammo reviews.

Just my $0.02 I guess.

+1 it's not a dirty ammo exept for a bit a copper fouling.....

I am not surprised. I doubt it had anything to do with your shooting ability.

I think it is awlful ammo from a reputable maker.

Take Care
