I am looking at a Sako 995 TRG-S in a 7mm rem mag. I do not have any info. on this rifle other than it is a nice gun that is said it shoots well. Any info on this would be very helpful.

This would be used as an all around hunting rifle deer to elk. Type of hunting is hiking spot and stalk.

If any one has other Sako's that they would recommed in the above cartridge that would be helpful as well.

Thanks

Sako 75 Finnlight, if you like stainless and synthetic, if not Sako 75 hunter, wood and blue, both magnificent rifles. Google sako.fi

Trg

If you are a big guy with large hands you will like it.... Feels like a long heavy club to me. 7mm is tuff to beat as an all around gun.

I have had the TRGs in 30.06 since getting out of the army in 1995. I love this gun. If you want I can dig out the owners manual and answer any dirrect questions you have. I think I know where it is. (building a house and have a lot of stuff in boxes) PM me if you would like me to dig it out.

I've got one in 7STW and it's likely the most accurate rifle I own. It's a bit heavy but I still end up taking it afield more than any other gun. If the price is right I don't think you could go wrong.

I had one in 30-06 that was very accurate...picked up one in 300 Win Mag last fall,..haven't fired it yet...they are a he11 for stout action with a large three lug bolt and a very long receiver. They were produced in some vary large cartridges like 308 Lazzeroni Warbird and 30-378 Weatherby. Detachable mag also. Same trigger as the Sako 75/85's.
There's nothing Valmet about the TRG-S M995, it's basically a sporting rifle built using a modified Sako TRG-21/TRG-22 sniper/tactical action.

I saw a 30-378 995 at the Calgary gun show on the weekend. Damn I was tempted.

Then you could burn $5 in 0.0001 second.
I remember when WSS had to put them on sale for $650ish to get them to move back in 2000. Even then it took a bit. Now you can't find them.

LOL...I actually bought my 7STW from Russel's in Calgary brand new for $525 back then. I wish I'd have bought several more of them. They had some great calibres that like you say, they were having trouble selling.

They shoot like a house on fire....They rust about the same way.
No idea why, but get the bore inspected by a pro then keep it well protected after you purchase it.

Good luck!
