Selectfire?

Price for the most part. Although I like the black oxide finish too, as it would have looked good with my tacticool build. I've found it hard to find bolt assemblies from Canadian suppliers. Got a Kidd one from Fabsports, but they only had the one in stock. The other one I picked up from Hornet.

Likely wouldn't have bought from these other guys unless I heard some feedback about reliability etc anyways, but there prices, even for shipping, don't seem half bad.

so how does this work? do you order the receiver 80% complete, phone the cfo to register/serial it, and then drill out the holes?

it says you need no ffc and they will ship to canada, but a receiver is considered a firearm here.

Ya, I'm not so sure the receiver would work out - I was more interested in the bolt assembly and other parts...of course the suppressor looks cool too :)

im really curious about this. these receivers are priced quite well.

they dont require a ffc and are not 'technically' a firearm until drilled out.

not that i would risk it. probably best to find out from the CFC and get it in writing.

Hello guys,
Just to clear a few items up:

In the US an 80% receiver is a paper weight. It's not a firearm until the holes are drilled. When shipping to Canada or any other country Select Fire ships an aluminum paper weight because that is all it is unless you the owner complete the project. It does come with a drawing that includes all the drill sizes and dimesions for the owner to drill the holes in the correct locations (or you can just purchase the drill fixture).

The US law is very simple, You can build as many firearms as you want, you just can not sell them or you are considered a manufacture. US does not require a serial number or registration on home built firearms (This does not include: machineguns or pistols).

Select Fire will ship to your door. It is up to each individual to understand the laws they are governed by when it comes to building a Firearm.

With the RAZOR, its all about the build!!!

By the way, This is another great forum.

Like any "80%" hunk of metal, it's not a firearm receiver until
- it's finished by you doing all of the holes so it will take the parts to make it functional
- you make up a serial #
- you register the new frame with the CFC

There's work and tool costs involved... so the Dlask receivers at their pricing are very appealing. :)

these guys offer a template for $25 and i have endless drillbits and access to a drillpress.

i like the idea of being able to brag to my friends that 'i even drilled out the holes and everything'. making up my own serial number is badass too.

i realized that 'technically' its not a firearm, i just dont trust technicalities with the CFC and wanted to make sure.

select fire replied to my e-mail in like an hour. that was a breath of fresh air.

Razor

The Razor is a very nice piece. The very best way to finish one is on a mill. If you know someone that has a mill, that is best. If your holes are off even a few thousandths, it can affect your final assembly. The jig they sell is an excellent idea. With a 50mm bell scope and medium rings, there is just enough room between the scope and the barrel for the scope caps. Excellent product and great customer service.
