Just ordered my Tavor today the waiting game begins

No one is safe, your Tavors are just as volatile as the T97s. Remember, the T97 too was tested and approved. There is nothing to stop the RCMP from arbitrarily stripping your 3k gun from you in a few weeks and laughing at your inept misery.

They could just be "testing the water" with the T97 confiscation in preparation for a clamp-down on black rifles.

Am I stirring up the hornet's nest? Yes, I want to infuriate you into action. Inaction is the ultimate weapon of the gun grabbers.

Do you like your rifle? Do you like having $3000 dollars outright stolen from you? Would you like to own similar rifles in the future? EVERYONE needs to be made aware that any gun with a magazine that detaches or has a pistol grip or a skeleton stock etc. is at risk of being confiscated and destroyed.

While we all feel for the T97 owners and their plight (and many of us are even willing to contribute to the legal defence), please don't spread misinformation. The T97 wasn't tested and approved; it was issued an FRT based on photos and blueprints. When it was actually tested they classified it as prohibited and revoked the FRT. Whether you agree or disagree with the methodology, those are the facts.

With respect to the Tavor or any of the other bullpups (ie: FN PS90, FN FS2000, CX4 Storm, etc.), they were all physically tested, inspected and classified as semi-automatic prior to being issued an FRT. It's highly unlikely a reclassification for any of these would withstand a court challenge.

We recognize that this forum is being reviewed by the anti's--- yet when they infiltrate our tavor thread and try and stir crap up to destabilize us as a group we do nothing!

Hands down; I love my Tavor, Ill move to Israel and join the IDF; if I have to; in order to keep it. I'd rather not don a beanie and give up bacon with my eggs, but If I have to hang out with hot IDF girls; wear a giant hairnet; to keep my Tavor--- I WILL...but Its my understanding this shipment took so long to come thru because an actual sample was sent in for testing; unlike lever arms t97.

Do I support the t97 guys? yes, and Ill back their legal team with my donations when they ask me to. But when I see two people constantly insulting people on that thread and then bringing the paranoia onto the Tavor thread, I have to ask myself. Why did they join CGN a few months ago? And why do they post negative comments to undermine us as a group? They are red herrings!! Thats right! BAN THEM! BAN THEM! IF you have nothing good to add to the thread, ask the mods to start up a red herring forum for you to spread your poison! Give them the duck test!

I hope this rant was not directed at me as I simply asked a question. I am looking at buying either a Tavor or FS and thought Id ask some opinions on the confidence of the rifles remaining in our posession. I was ready to buy a T97 and now I guess I'm gonna be savin, but it just concerns me spending alot of money(to me) just to be scared of it being confiscated.

This is the first time I have ever wished a thread would be locked... We have who knows how many T97 threads going on right now? For the benefit of the T97 crew please post your T97 issues in one thread so that the info is more concentrated and is easier to find. This is a Tavor thread, and I am sure I am not the only one who does not like sifting through the rubbish to find tavor information. Unless you are posting physical comparisons between the Tavor and the T97 I would really appreciate it if we could leave the T97 stuff behind and get back to the threads original topic. I do appreciate everyones posts so far, but please help organize them better by directing them to the proper threads.

Agreed. And there's not really any comparison. One is legal to own, and the other is in the process of being confiscated...

I think people should stop spreading fear for no reason at all - we need to be cautious in dealing with issue, but spreading fear without solid reason is not adviseable.

There is very little known about how these Type 97 were actually submitted and tested in the first place by the original importer. So far, everything we know about the type 97 is 3rd party heresay circulated on the internet and they are not official words of people who were actually involved in the original importation. Things will be much more clear when hearings are behing held.

In the mean time, I think we should all pay attention to further development, such as the High Standard 10B shotgun. This is a firearms with a long history of being restricted with solid regulation to back up its legal status.

We need to be vigilent with heightened attention, but not yet in a irrational frenzy.

just my 2 cents.

All great points. With respect to the 10B, I'm still unclear on the reclassification; was it due to the bullpup design-aspect of the stock or is everyone still very much in the dark here?

My moderator and I have not been able to verify the "confiscation" - none of us has seen the document.

I will be posting both the 10B and the T97 letter later today, once I remove the names, etc and upload.

We should lock this thread as it is now hijacked.

That is unfortunate. Will they ever be offered again? How many people do you need to commit to get IWI to run a few?

Yes indeed.

Just curious which Yes you're using here...

Is this a Yes as in the affirmative? You will ship LH bolts to customers who have ordered them?

Or is it the same Yes (which actually means no) from the last shipment, which had no LH bolts?

Or is it the Yes (which could mean maybe?) from last year's (apparent) shipment of LH bolts, of which I never received one even though it was backordered from Oct 08?

So any idea of what version of Yes you'll be using for this batch? Thanks.

I simply do my best to report what IWI tells me. They say they are in the next shipment, so I report that to you.
