The wrench isn't $25... it's more than 10 times that.

FPembleton is correct, $250 - $280 is what pricing seems to be.

Wow, I didn't know that. KAC is f**ked with their pricing.
Ever buy Snap-on or Mac? Good tools are expensive - particularly specialized, low-production types...

Presumably the wrench is intended for gunsmith use, not as an end-user product. Agreed that it's pricey, but not too out-of-order when compared to other smithy tools.

It is out of order. It's flat out gouging simply because its "Knights Armament". And ya.....90% of Snap-on's tools are way over priced as well.

.

THe old wrench, which is like a 5lb bored out steel bar (for the GL compatible barrel nut) is a 300 USD affair IIRC.

THe new wrech should be just a metal plate cut by water jet, most likely. It should not be a 250 USD affair.

Well OK, you're right - they are all too expensive. I guess my main point is they are hardly alone in charging too much for specialty tools. Not trying to defend them, just sayin' it's not an extraordinary occurrence...

For sure, agreed. Like I said, a specialized tool for gunsmith use, not the end user. He would be expected to recoup his cost by charging for installation... this is hardly rare in the tool marketplace, smithing or otherwise. Look at sight-pushers for instance, granted they are more intricate tools.
:EDIT: G.T. - I saw you changed your post and deleted my quote of same, my reply doesn't mean much now but my point remains valid.

I guess we can agree it's a lot of dough for a wrench, but whatcha' gonna' do? :p
Cheers

The Steel "Marvin" Type II wrenches we had where never thought of for sale, and we made them oout of Billet on the CNC's. They where designed for in house usage, as there was no plan to sell those rails outside of inhouse builds, we still have no caught up to make an affordable wrench

We are planning on releasing a mass produces wrench that should be under $50 retail. I would guess 3-4 months

We are dropping the prices on the URX MidLength and Rifle Length rails in the upcoming months.
