We ran this mount through it's paces this weekend for NEA as you can see in the video.
Initial Impressions.;
This mount is made specifically for NEA's stock adaptor and features an ADM mount. It's well built, to spec and mounts solidly. It attaches and detaches easillt and quickly with one hand. Only issue I spoke of to NEA was that the rail should be longer (~7" total), should be a hair lower and the mounting area to be streamlined to rid the corners and fill the gap at the dust cover. I have been told that all those concerns have already been addressed.
Use;
The cantelever adaptor attaches via the ADM quick mount. Seats solid and repeatable. We tested this mount with high power optics, low power DMR scopes, red dots and reflex sights. All performed well and returned to zero after repeated dismounting.
The cheek weld with the inline adaptor and scope height was comfortable and natural. No cheek riser was required.
Testing conditions;
We had a steady wind of 20km/h with gusts to 30 km/h all day. We used "well worn" guns for the tests not new fresh shooters. My main rifle for the day had a barrel nearly shot out, and hadn't been cleaned in ~3000 rnds (other test). We fired between 250m-100m all day. We shot with and without brakes, bipods and vert grips to simulate as many conditions as possible. We tested this mount in various positions from prone, sitting, standing and walking as well as transitions in between and combined removal and attachment on the fly of the mount. Even with the deck stacked against the process we were still able to maintain a repeatable zero and somewhat reputable grouping throughout the day.
Bottom line;
We're looking to test this mount next on a newer, clean and maintained rifle. Repeat the tests again and focus on magnified optics and longer range shooting. I'm interested in seeing what NEA's setup can provide under ideal conditions as well. The ability to have a no-gunsmith solution to mounting optics that is repeatable, versatile and allows the user the most freedom to choose their optics makes this platform a very versatile one.
I look forward to seeing what more can be done with this rifle on the range in the future.
