IPSC BC and lack of matches

slavex one of the airlines was approached about a group rate for flights from Vancouver to Cranbrook for the May qualifier. Price ws 99$ I think. Call Don 250 426 5781 he had all the details

I don't know who Ralph is...but I know that someone living in BC, can not join IPSC Alberta (nor would they need to, if they belonged to IPSC BC)

You do not need the second membership to shoot the IPSC matches in other provinces.

The second membership provides access to members forums, supports the provincial organization that is putting on matches in each province, allows for "provincial points" to be accumulated. Ralph

This is true, Some BC and Alberta members have dual membership to support, receive benefits and also ranking.

Note: membership in IPSCBC is not required for access to IPSC BC forums. However, you must be able to have your membership in another section verified to receive access.

We've got a new IPSC Director at our Quesnel Club and I think he's going to breath some new life into it. He's busy figuring out what all we've got squirreled away in the way of targets and what we're going to need buy to get going right now. I suspect we will be shooting club matches soon at the very least and eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later) we'll be looking at holding a sanctioned IPSC shoot. What do you guys think of shooting here in Quesnel? Something that you would consider?

Nope...Quesnel sucks.......Lol..
:)
Just kidding of course.

It would be awesome if you guys got going there.

Shooters from Pr. Rupert and Terrace, and me of course, go to PG and beyond to shoot so I think some of us would certainly be up for a trip to Quesnel.

Make sure you post your club matches on the IPSC BC website. I travel regularly to 100 Mile to visit family and it would great to drop in to catch a match.

Good luck getting it together.

By the way there will be a double qualifier in Terrace next weekend (24-25) so swing north if you get a chance and check it out.

I'd come if my work schedule allows... What is 9 hrs drive? Peanuts :D
Kicking a few 'tooches' and seeing someone I care for around the area -- PRICELESS!! :D

Think on the positive side, wouldn't it be nice to see close to 200 shooters at matches the may long weekend instead of 100.

where? This also means that there are 6 matches that I/anybody cannot attend. We will see what the bottom line is for the organization for the season.

Awesome, very postive feedback, thanks guys (and gals). I'll be talking with Paul soon to see where he's at with getting us going and to pass along the fact that there is an interest in an Interior shoot. I know he was busy with the Northern shoot a while back (he did really well) but now he's back and should have more free time to get us up and running.

to join the IPSC Alberta forum you do not need to be a member of IPSC Alberta, however you just have and it must be verified a IPSC membership in another province or country.

If you join IPSC Alberta you can have an Alberta ranking which is nice if you are shooting more then a match a year in Alberta otherwise use ICS or shot UC.

You can belong to more then one section however you must first belong to your home section as per IPSC Canada's policy.

Well, there is a double in the Lower Mainland to service the needs of all the members there. There is a double in Cranbrook, which is so geographically isolated that it doesn't make sense for their members to travel anywhere else. Isn't there also a double in your own zone on that weekend, too?

...trying to match my days off with dates that are acceptable to IPSC BC, and well it simply doesn't work.

We would be happy to accommodate a match if you put one on... Hell, if anyone is interested in putting on a match, we would be interested in hearing about it.

yeah, 4 matches in the lower mainland, originally, not including the Nats. Wow, again, not impressed. Sorry, but we are the biggest zone and we can only manage 4 scheduled matches, and then 2 of them are cancelled?

Yes, it's sad... But when it is the same 10 or 20 people doing all the work for the other 200 it gets awfully tiring. More people need to step up, it goes without saying.

...barely enough to even maintain my membership.

On a positive note, TMSA is trying to pick up one of the dropped qualifiers. It is tentatively scheduled for June. Also, the requirement to stay active has dropped to one match.

TPK I am in Williams Lake, if you have a club match I will be there and will drag along at least 3 more shooters. We also have steel, stands or anything you may need.

IPSC in Billy's Puddle?

Anyone there looking at getting something going?

You have Brian and crew in 100 Mile, TPK et al in Quesnel, PG and Kamloops are also within easy driving distance. You have the makings of a sweet little circuit there.
