Where the heck are these? I've seen lots of slides on other brand frames, but it seems like all the frames have vanished. I've heard that they were often used for custom builds, but even so, I never see one for sale.

There were more slides made than frames in all makers as "replacements". Circa 15 - 20 years ago you used to see rows of spankin' new WWII era 1911A1 contract slides [Colt, Rem Rand, Ithaca, US&S] at big gunshows in the USA for cheap. If I only knew then what I know now.....

Judging from what I've seen they all have Ithaca slides on them...

WTT a Rem Rand slide for an Ithaca by the way...

I have an Ithaca slide I'm not using, but it's been butchered for target sights. Seems like a shame, its in nice shape otherwise. Not worth it for me to get it fixed though.

I'd like to find a decent replacement, but am using an unmolested Rand slide for now.
