Aside from the three TNW guns, do any other semi auto beltfeds exist up here? I'm more interested in black-rifle beltfeds, but do tell of any you know about :). I'm just curious, perhaps a future purchase one day... Or list any that "should" be legal for export from the USA or another country, and "theoretically" accepted as non-r or restricted here. I wouldn't mind getting one of those semi-auto m60's being sold down south LOL , but i think they are on the US's no-export list :(...

Haven't heard much of anything going on with the beltfed scene, so thought i'd inquire.

IIRC, Canam was putting some feelers out last year to find out if it would be worth importing some semi-auto Negevs. The 2 big problems everyone had were that they'd cost around $12000, and the belts would be limited to 5 rounds.

Sadly, any "black rifle" belt feds would likely use rounds designed after 1945 so the whole belt thing would be pointless.

Now, the holy grail of belt feds in Canada would be a semi-auto only RPD. Non-restricted, no belt limits, and CHEAP ammo. The RPD is not named prohibited.

I'd love to get an RPD parts kit and build a new semi-auto only receiver.

I forgot about the Negevs, hmm that is one heck of a price :(...

When robarms made up the m96 , did they not make any of the beltfed topcovers like on the stoner? Wonder how much those stoner topcovers would cost, if you were to throw it onto an m96, or would it even fit?

Edit: Would one of the semi auto RPD's down south be importable into canada? They use new receivers i think, and aren't on the no-export list. If not "name-prohibited", could one of us go through the export/import hoops to get one and hopefully have it classed non-prohib here?

Omg i have a chubby, does norinco make them?

As far as I know the only part from the Stoner that is interchangeable with the M96 is the buttstock (and maybe the rear sight assembly). Correct me if I'm wrong here guys. Would love to have a Robarms beltfed kit for my M96, pretty sure that gear resides in the realm of unobtanium though.

Thats what I'm talking about, I would do unspeakable things for a semi RPD.

This makes me giddy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lsaClkO4ws

This was my most favorite belt feed I have ever got the chance to fire;

Are you sure the RPD belt qualifies?

It looks like the RPD was developed prior to 1945, despite not entering service until the 1950s:

The PK family of machine guns also uses the same belt that was originally used with the Goryunov SG-43. I'm not certain, but I think this belt was also used in the Russian Maxim guns.

Goryunov on wiki also said it was introduced 1943.. Hmm that would make their belts also unrestricted by the capacity limitations? Wonder if it's a new-made receiver, or reweld?

RPD is on the prohib list under AK variants, is it not?
I'm sure I saw it on there.

You saw the RPK, totally different firearm.

Additionally, the RPD is belt fed but the RPK is magazine fed (uses standard AK magazines and drums).
