Custom die maker in canada?

Came with my own cartridge in 416 caliber. Need full length and seater die.. I emailed Redding a week ago and haven't heard from them with an estimate.

Try CH4D, they were the most reasonable for rare and custom dies when i was looking. I think they would be able to make something from a drawing.

What parent case is your wildcat based on ?

It requires necking down the 458 win mag case to .416. And no, I've checked for this design. I have Manson Precision making the reamer. He thought it was unique in its design and for the purpose for which I'm using it for. Is quite simple actually.

I believe 416 Taylor is the 458 win mag necked down to .416.....no ?

Patience, Redding does most of the custom die work in N.A. Custom chambers, wildcats etc... are never a fast turnaround proposition. Be prepared to wait months and months for custom projects. I know, I've done this hundreds of times. Made more of my own designs than I can remember. Wildcats have been done so much that it is almost impossible to come up with an orginial design that hasn't been done before, sure one version may have a .002" longer body or a 2.17 degree steeper shoulder but these are all just variations.

BTW, Redding will only quote via written mail response, so you are usually 2 to three weeks easily. Good luck, but be prepared to wait a while.

if you don't mind Lee Dies , they have a custom die services available

http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/catalog/browse.cgi?1271523493.433=/html/catalog/custom.html#CUSTOMSTEELRIFLE[/url]

quote:

Steel Full Length Rifle Die Sets

Two die rifle sets consist of a steel sizing die (requires case lubrication) and a seater crimper die.

We need:

Payment of $174.00 ($130.00 setup charge + cost of the dies $40.00+ $4.00 processing fee)
5 fired cases
3 bullets or cartridge and chamber dimensions
Full Length Sizing Die Only - setup charge is $100.00 plus $15.00 for the cost of the die.

The setup cost is a one time per order charge, therefore additional die sets requested in the same order bear only the applicable cost of the dies. If 25 die sets are ordered, we waive the setup cost.

Probably the most realistic route would be to order the reamer for the die from PTG, along with a handful of their die blanks for $20 apiece.

Not brain surgery to make a die, no more than chambering, anyways.

And I'm thinking that it would work out cheaper than having someone else do it, esp if the project is repeated even once.

Cheers
Trev

Not sure why you wouldn't use the Talor?
