IIRC it's the thread on the bushings that goes into the frame that is different than standard mil-spec 1911 grip screw bushings BUT the bushings themselves will accept standard thread grip screws - slotted or hex or torx....... ;)

Still, that's one beautiful commander 1911, though..........

The latest addition to the family - and fast becoming a favorite. For such a loose gun it certainly doesn't hold me back, in fact, I still have a lot of growing to do. Though I have a couple pretty faces, this one is on it's way to the work horse placement. Bob the hammer, new MSH and I'm happy. Next I think a full Norc project is in order. Sorry about the pics.

My Argentine Colt and Ithaca jalopy after an afternoon of cleanup. Ready to send off to get refinished. The Ithaca frame will be fixed up, and will have to wear a Remington Rand slide for now, until a suitable replacement comes along.

Ooooh, I am sure looking forward to seeing how these look when they come back!

Who do you send your stuff to, deadman?

Pocketfisherman put me in touch with a buddy of his. I think you may have seen his work (Singer repro). I've never refinished a pistol before, for now I'll leave it to the pros. I should have left more to him, this weekend I found out how not to remove front sights .
