just bought a colt 1911 today, dont know much about it other then its a GI, ww2 era and had been reblued, so a 1911 A1 perhaps? either way i only paid 400$ for it because the dealer was a family friend and is getting it from an estate sale for me

Latest project...

Picked up a bare Springfield Armoury GI frame off the EE recently:

Some parts from the parts box to make a complete lower:

Added some spare grips:

Maybe use it as a dedicated lower for the Colt .22 unit:

NAA: Lots of Springer parts up right now. Pocketfisherman had some barrels, and I think I saw a mil-spec slide at Armco. Great find.

USGI British Proofed Ithaca

Here is a USGI Ithaca .45. It has British Proof marks as well! The gun orinally had very little in the way of wear...it appears that it was used very little, but someone had done a real crappy re-blue at some point so it got the Krylon treatment. Runs like a top. Surefire MR-07 with X-200 mounted below.

The gun orinally had very little in the way of wear...it appears that it was used very little, but someone had done a real crappy re-blue at some point so it got the Krylon treatment. Runs like a top. Surefire MR-07 with X-200 mounted below.

Please god take the light and rail off and put in a 7rnd mag with no bumper pad then take a new picture.

The light is off now...no holster for it.

For about $300 to re-finish it, it can stay green awhile!

That was the longest weekend i've had to suffer through in a long time, but it got here today. Outwitted the mailman too, he already had the "sorry we missed you, pick it up next week" card filled out. I ambushed him at the door though. Anyway, my new colt and the .22 kit i got from the same guy:
