1911's Pics Thread

just bought a colt 1911 today, dont know much about it other then its a GI, ww2 era and had been reblued, so a 1911 A1 perhaps? either way i only paid 400$ for it because the dealer was a family friend and is getting it from an estate sale for me :D

Latest project...

Picked up a bare Springfield Armoury GI frame off the EE recently:

USGI British Proofed Ithaca

Here is a USGI Ithaca .45. It has British Proof marks as well! The gun orinally had very little in the way of wear...it appears that it was used very little, but someone had done a real crappy re-blue at some point so it got the Krylon treatment. Runs like a top. Surefire MR-07 with X-200 mounted below.

That was the longest weekend i've had to suffer through in a long time, but it got here today. Outwitted the mailman too, he already had the "sorry we missed you, pick it up next week" card filled out. I ambushed him at the door though:D.
