Hey guys,

A few of you may remember my posts a while ago trying to learn more about my German K98 and specifically its stock. Through a lot of reading I have learned that my rifle was made in the Berlin Borsigwalde factory in 1943, and was at some point in time restocked. After some searching I found a proper WWII German laminated stock with the cupped buttplate. Just thought I would share a few pictures!

Not bad for 65$!
What do you guys think?

I was just about to put my beautiful bcd 41 up on the EE.
Seeing those nice pics of yours is making me think twice about that now haha.
Mine also has the blond laminate with red glue.
Very nice karabiner you have there;)

Nice russian capture. I am curious why there is no serial number on the barrel but there is an eagle and swastika. The "X" on the receiver is also quite nice too as others I have seen are crudely done.

Some of the plum colour on the extractor on my Kar98k is rubbing off (1/4 is gone now) but I figured I wouldn't touch it. Nice to see yours is intact.

How does she shoot ?

I have had the pictures up on a K98 collector forum and from the pictures I had from under the stock they came to the consensus that it is the original bbl. There are TONS of German proof marks under the stock, lots of little waffs. A few other AR k98s I have seen also dont have the ser number on the bbl.

Im not to worried about the plum wear, it was like that when I first picked it up.

She shoots like a champ :D My personal best at 100m with my reloads in right on the inch mark. The rifle is MUCH more accurate then I am. Here is a 3 shot group - the one flier was the first. I have found this rifle HATES the first shot.

I can't remember if this was 50m or 100m, so to be safe I'll say 50!

A close up showing the "two shots in one hole"

this was also luck - I dont typically shoot this well I'll be honest!

Well she's up. I will miss that one but I do have to thin the heard a bit. Rats.
Very nice shooting ArtyMan.

Thanks! that sure is one nice BCD J996 - if it makes you feel any better im sure it will go quick and for the asking price. Like I said - If I didnt just purchase that Inglis Mk1 9mm I would jump on that rifle!

Thanks ArtyMan. I may still end up taking it down. In the meantime I had to get Adolf to deal with the lowballers.
