I'm in the process of obtaining a Tokarev TT-33 - I though it was an interesting gun. Now the question is, where (in Calgary preferrably) can I pickup some 7.62x25mm ammo? I've read that it can also use 7.63mm Mauser.

There's got to be an army surplus somewhere that sells it.

It seems all the surplus is gone. I've been told there is piles of it waiting to be released to suppliers, but our goverment is holding it up for some reason.
Same as the 7.62x54.

That's interesting... I emailed a few online stores - www.vinzersports.com said they expect to have some in May sometime. I wasn't expecting it this hard to find it. I'd better buy a case when I find some.

Keep watching Badger, Frontier, SFRC, TEC and Marstar. When you see it, stock up. Badger will accept a deposit on a pending ammo purchase, others may as well. I'm sure a supply will surface soon. You will find nothing in YC for surplus, but if you are really hot to trot, I'm sure I saw a box of 7.62X25 S&B at the Mcleod Trail CT not long ago. An option during droughts is to find a 9mm BBL for your TT33. They exist, you just have to look.

The S&B stuff is sold out until early summer. If you find a box some place grab it. The surplus isn't approved yet but hopefully soon. Once it is we'll have it ready to sell.

"Once it is we'll have it ready to sell"? You have it but can't sell it? How does that work?

I think they now need approval from zee fuhrer to sell surplus ammo or something stupid like that.

I emailed badger a month or two ago asking their price per crate, they said something along the lines of: we're just waiting for the government to allow us to sell it.

Unfortunately they didn't give me a price, so I never really thought about it twice. Just hoping marstar gets its soon.

I found a small quantity at a local gun show, so if there is a show in your area and you're looking for x25, thats probably your best bet to finding it while the retailers await their approval.

I didn't think it would be such a hassle to get. I would like to go out and shoot sooner than later. But once I have a case I should be good for a while.

When this batch gets approved I think you'll be looking at $350 to $400 a case of 2280. I don't want to give a definite price until I know for sure but it should be in that ball park.

I'll have it in batches of 100, 250, 500, 1000, and 2280 (or what ever the case size ends up being). I'll post on here when it becomes available. I checked again today and it isn't approved yet.

Yikes. I might have to start looking for a 9mm conversion. Unless other Tokarev shooters want to part with some of their ammo.
