My daughter loves plinking with me at the range, but my Ruger 10/22 Traget is too large for her to handle.

I am looking for recommendations for a .22 (bolt or semi not picky) affordable rifle with a short LOP for her size.

Oh if they have a PINK stock, all the better lol. :p

Any ideas?

Thank You

Consider buying a second stock for your 10/22 and cutting it. I have a 10/22 for me, and another 10/22 for my sons, but picked up a second stock from the equipment exchange for $20 bucks and chopped it to reduce the LOP. Looks a little like hell, but some elbow grease and sandpaper would fix that.

Savage makes a Pink youth rimfire called the Cub bolt action, CZ has the 452 Scout in pink nice little bolt gun 5 shot clip, Henry has the Mini bolt in stainless synthetic single shot with great little fibre optic sights.
A few suggestions in youth guns, good luck and I'd stick to a bolt gun for a 9 year old more deliberate and much safer.

CZ scout, 1 shot mag, 5 shot mag or 10 shot mag, very accurate she will appreciate shooting more if the gun is accurate.

buy a used single ,bolt action and cut the stock to fit. You can add on recoil pads to lengthen it as she grows. safest that way as it cannot be reloaded without deliberate actions.

Agree. Get a single shot bolt action. Or any of the cheap Cooey single shots commonly available on the EE. This type of action and the single shot feature will teach new shooters discipline and the one-shot, one-hit mind set. If you buy used, you can probably sell at the same price you bought it. So the learning experience came with only the cost of ammo.

A semi-auto will teach them to spray and pray, sorry I said that.

A few years back I was looking for a 22 for my boys. I got the Savage cub. Its good to learn on but now they want accuracy, and it has none. They got frustrated and now shoot chickens with a 410. I got my girl a 10-22 youth in pink laminate. She loves it and that is all that matters. She is three. It may be a while before she can shoot it but she likes to hang on to it for now. I don't care if its a semi as I can load the mag with one round for now. She can learn on a bolt, lever, single shot and semi. What more can I do.:D

Oh and the Crickets I looked at all had crooked sights. I looked at about 5 and gave up.

Youth .22 - Shortening LOP

If you decide to cut a stock to achieve a currently satisfactory LOP predrill two holes for future dowels when you want to add the cut off bits back on as she grows - and use a fine toothed saw blade. Kayceel

The pink Savage cub has a laminated Stock. It's heavy. My 10 yo daughter can't hold it up very long. I got her the regular stock which is nice and light, I told her I'd stain it pink but she prefers it as is. (More like my guns I think).

Good gun to start a kid with. She has been using hers for a year. I expect she will move up in another year. Good accuracy to 25m after that it opens up. Most of her shooting is less than 25m anyway.

I bought my boy a cz scout, accuracy is simply awesome! It cost a little more but I figure I have 3 boys and some year (down the road a ways) I'll probably have grandkids. It's a nice gun and the single shot thing gets tired fast, the cz has a single shot follower in it that pops out and it takes cz 452 5 and 10 shot mags in it's place. But it's not pink.
