You know you're a milsurp collector when.....

When you start thinking about wearing the matching timeframe uniform as your rifle as a hunting outfit. I can't wait to wear my 'blurred edge" smock this fall!

...when you have to stop and think, "Do I actually have a sporting" firearm?":p

This.

Anyone play MOHAA online as a British Soldier just so you could use the Lee Enfield as your main rifle?
I was unstoppable with that gun. Made the Yanks with the Garands look like pellet guns.

If your wife/ girlfriend said its me or the enfields, and you said well goodbye then.

If you ever paid money for an enfield that was being used to prop up a shelf in a barn. (Me, she fires to)

When you even know what "cosmoline" IS !

BTW : not every man "believed that the cause was right", lots of them were simply drafted and told, "you have to go .....;))

When you realise that instead of food, shelter, and water, you now own examples of ancient arms carried to war by men of the past who's blood sweat and tears stained the ground to preserve their cause and fight for what they believed was right! (Shame on you men with unissued examples. What good is a War Horse without the War? Just a Horse.)

When you carefully lay all around you every "period correct" gun, cartridge, or piece of gear you own all around you and only then hit the "play" button.

When you mutter under your breath "schweeeeet!" when you see a rifle similar to one you own while watching a movie in the theater, even though the rifle in question is being used by the "bad guy" in the movie.

When you smack your palm to your face and exclaim "idiots!" as you spot even the most minute of anachronisms in a movie.

When you watch WWI & WWII movies, pausing and rewinding to bask in the milsurp goodness of a specific scene (all while holding a milsurp as you watch) . :yingyang:

And yet don't care about said religion, nationalities, or ethinicities...

......when you have rifles and handguns that have been used in war by and against people of every religion, nationality and ethnicity you can think of....

When your latest milsurp has a higher market value than your truck.

Well Armendask You CAN convert a bolt action rifle to full auto. Charleton, Reider, Howell.
when your wife hates to watch war movies with you because you are constantly saying "That wasn't issued back then, or was NEVER issued, those uniform bits are incorrect, etc etc.
Case in point: Zulu, where Chard and Bromhead are using revolvers that were not made until 1915!
And you spotted the Long Lees in one sequence.

stockpiling brass that hasn't been made for many years so you can shoot those antiques
41 Swiss
577-450
8mm Kropatcheck
43 Egyptian
577 Snider
11mm Beaumont
11mm Vetterli Vitali
.310 greener
11mm Gras
11mm Mouser
297/230 Morris
.455 webley
.45 Schofield
etc. etc.
And of course you need dies and bullet moulds for all that stuff:eek:
Finaly. I have a walk in closet and in order to get to the back of it, I have to take guns out of the front.

Collecting Enfields; When the ones you don't have are unobtanium

When you buy EVERY book on the subject of the guns in your collection and are constantly looking for more.

When your buddy lets you shoot his Sako TRG22 and after three rounds on this strange gun, of which two hit the 200M gong (something you've never accomplished before), you still feel your SMLE is the better rifle and go back to punching holes at 50M ;)
