I really like the flat finish, although it looks a little heavy on the mags (but that may be due to the original paint). What paint did you use? Krylon? Unfortunate that your bakelite stock furniture is a bit mismatched. Looks pretty good though.

did you use duracoat? armacoat? or just plain ol' spray paint? i'm going to paint my 858 desert tan/sand colour, should look sweet (i hope).

yeah I dyed the furniture but I couldn't get the stock to go darker no matter how long I boiled it. lol

I used krylon fusion flat black camo paint, I removed al the original paint with thinners first, when I oil the gun it will go a nice satin black.

That stock is a synthetic. A gelcoat paint or anything related to boat hull refinishing should adhere to it easily.
I think I'll ask my friend Bab : he's specializing in boat refurbs. I'll lend him one spare stock so he can play with it.
More to come.
PP.

I used plain old lacquer thinners, took the old paint right off, I have had the gun to the range and the paint works great!

that is what I was going for, you see the full painted ones all the time I was trying for something different
