A friend has a BRNO Model 602 in 300 Win Mag he is interested in selling. This rifle is in excellant condition. It has a Bushnell Banner 3X9 illuminated light scope and has a set trigger installed as well as the sporter trigger would be included. Express type open sights are mounted on the 25" barrel. Thanks for any feedback.

The action is waaaay too big and heavy for a 300WM. Long enough for a 375H&H and then some.

I had one for a time. I had the bbl removed for a custom build but went another route and sold it for parts. The actions alone go for +/- $700.

If you intend to use the rifle as is, pass it up. The 602 action is far too long for the .30/06 length, .300 Winchester. If you are considering rechambering the barrel to .300 Ultra or .30/378, it would then be worth considering. Problems can occur when a short cartridge bounces back and forth in a long magazine under significant recoil. A pal of mine had a .458 Winchester factory load fire in his 602 magazine, so its now a .458 Lott.

I bought a 602 last year with a douglas sporter barrel and custom one off stock for 1180! I to think the action is huge for the 7mm rem mag it came in so i had it rechambered to 7stw!
