Very cool. I trying to shoot past 200 too with my 20" SPS tactical this summer. It's not as ###y as yours but it shoots really well with my handloads.
Thanks for sharing your pics. I'm getting good ideas for when I accessorize it.
Loading your own ammo will be a good next step. Most factory guns can be significantly improved with had loads tailored to the throat in your particular barrel.
Factory "Match" ammo just uses a "match bullet" on top of a standard case with a standard machine-thrown volume dumped powder charge. Using good brass, a light neck tension and a tuned seating depth will extract better accuracy.
The final and most dramatic change will come with a match grade barrel custom fitted to your action.
Greetings,
First off, GET OUT OF MY HEAD! LOL!!! I have just started searchng and reading the great posts on the precision rifle section and you have just built the rifle I have in my head. GReat job and thank you for all the great range reports and information about suppliers you have dealt with.
Secondly, I am in Toronto as well and it is good to see that we have knowleedgeable shooters and good suppliers to deal with in this firearn unfriendly city.
I have to ask what range you belong to if you don't mind as I am looking at getting back into shooting and was wondering where you do your long range shooting at?
Thanks again and maybe we will see each other on the range one day.
With Greatest Respect,
Matt
How is that monopod ?? I have been thinking of getting one for my Savage 10 FCP,instead of using a sandbag. Just don't want to spend the money if you think its not worth it. More money for reloading then...
Hey Evan
I just got the falcon 4-14x44, do you have any pointers to shooting with it? Any thing bug you about it, or have trouble with it? Like Matt, dude you've done what we are all doing or planning. Love your m14 as well. Props, keep up the reports. Have a good one.
Dave
