What ammo weight do you use in your production gun and why?

I've switched from M.G.s to Aim due to availability. I would say my crimp is on the heavy side, and have not seen any degradation in accuracy, fwiw.

147gr out of my Shadow loaded to 135PF subjectively give me less muzzle flip then 124gr bullets loaded to the same PF. Basically I can pull trigger faster with 147gr load.

well,..I tried some 124gr ammo today,...I still prefer my 147gr ammo. I find the front sight flips up too much.

I was reloading and testing Frontiers 147 with W231 and Fed #100 primers for IPSC, couldn't/ haven't yet found the right load and OAL that works out of my M&P9.

Then tried Wolf 124 TMJ and my M&P9 loves them, my grouping has tighten up alot.... having said that it could very well be I'm not flinching as much as I use to. Sharon match proved that the other day.... Lost count and squeezed the trigger with an empty mag and a very slight flinch compared to yester-years.

anyone use the Campro 147gr bullet,...this is what was loaded in my ammunition. the OAL is fine,..but the ogive/shoulder is much to high,..entered the rifling too early. I had two tanfoglio's, one worked fine,.the other was not great at all due to the bullet design. Tried the bullet in two CZ's and had the same problem. It will work out of a glock,..but then who wants to shoot a glock..!!!? LOL....JK

Why don't you just shorten them a little? Take a cartridge shot from the same gun, insert a bullet in it and then feed it carefully into the chamber and then carefully eject. Repeat few times and measure the length. That would be the length that works in your guns also the most accurate load because bullet will be close to the rifling.

Eh? You do it once before you load these 3000 rounds and then load them to the measured length. BTW, for the above procedure you don't need to use reloading press to insert the bullet into the fired cartridge, nor cartridge need to be resized

I use Cam-Pro 147gr and I like them a lot. They are very consistent and give me very good accuracy out of my CZs. No problem such as what you described Mo. My OAL is 1.090.

It is hit or miss,..your OAL is probably what is saving you from headache. Like I said,,..some barrels it works,..some it is just a tiny bit too long. I can only use them out of one stock2's.

Probably, but why don't you try it out with the shorter OAL lenght and see what kind of accuracy it gives you. I used to be loading at 1.130 and then went all the way down to 1.090 and find this to be more reliable and at least as much accurate. But may be that's just me.

I think I will shoot a few 1000 147gr factory Winchester (145+PF)and the remainder of the 147gr new stuff (high ogive) and save the old stock 147gr (which worked great) for the Nationals.
