I just thought I'd let everyone know the M&P 1522's are going to be restricted. We should have some in stock soon.

I guess that makes my SR-22 a good purchase :). I here good things about the MP but the restricted part is unfortunate.

Thats crappy I was in for one forsure maybe two but now none. Very few of my rounds are spent at a range so the restricted part makes it a no go. This was one I really wanted.

Dealers should take up a list of everybody that is now not going to buy one because of this and thank the RCMP for the lost sales, but I am sure that would just make them happier

Has this finally been put to bed or is this still speculation?
As of Saturday P&D from Edmonton still had no idea when they would clear.

I have the FRT here and it is dated today. They classed them as restricted.

Why did they make them restricted? Don't they meet the OAL requirement for Non-Rest and I understood they were NOT an AR variant?

If it's deemed an AR variant...somebody should pick one up then try to use some real AR parts (unsuccessfully)...then sue. I don't know who they would sue, but somebody should be sued. Twice.

I want to know the details why it is classed as a restricted. Because it's a black rifle and scary is not an answer for me.

Collapsable stock maybe? :bsFlag:

its the rcmp, what did you expect?
short answer is = cause
long answer= because we can do what ever we want!
and if you complain they'll just taser you and say you were resisting. resisting the right to have your rights taken away from you.

Chemist, I was reading through Smith & Wesson's website, and they claim the action on this rimfire is totally new and the only "AR" compatable parts are the accessories. How is that a variant?
