Well I took my new rifle out to try and sight it in and such but just as I got out of the car the hail started pounding down so my day was cut short.

Just picked up a Savage 10FP chambered in .308 and full block aluminum bedded in a Choate stock from the EE here and Ive been dying to see it shoot. Still need to pick up a bipod for it so I'll be ordering a Harris BRM-S from the US, about $40 cheaper than anyplace I could find in Canada ($110 shipped for a brand new one).

So please feel free to post pics of Savage 10FP rifles and your targets to make me feel worse because of the weather! :D

The way your life has been going it's no surprise you got hailed out.

My life has been going pretty good, nice new job with decent pay, new rifle, got my handgun out for the first time, on the board for the local rod & gun club, etc.

I just cant control the weather! :p

When I was your age we used to shoot in softball sized hail all the time. "Threading the needle to the target" is what us oldtimers called it. The odd time a big hail stone would hit the bullet in mid flight and would open our 1/4 moa groups up to 1/2 moa but so what.....

Ok I literally spit my water out while reading that! :D

We gots a roofed enclosure to shoot under and a woodstove. They are enclosing 2 benches to keep it nicely warm.

I have a 10FP LE2B and I'm quite happy with it.

Might be some pictures of it still on Gunslingers in the precision rifle section over there. On my shooting table.

I was out in a gravel pit since the range out there hasnt been built yet! :D

Well, you asked for it...

I don't have any pics of my handloaded groups on photobucket, but I have a few targets saved and tucked under the foam of my rifle case - suffice it to say that with 165gn Sierra GameKings this rifle took 3 deer this past season and with the 165 GK's it shoots as good or better than the Federal GMM group above.

Thank You! Makes me feel better buying this rifle! :D

And... I just uploaded this one especially for you, because I love you (in a non-### way... well, maybe a little bit ###).

1 shot, from a measured 318yd, taken offhand + stoney point monopod. Dialed the Leupold in, and squeeeeeeeeeeezed... bang-turn around-stumble-flop.

DAMN! Well I don't think I'll be packing mine hunting since it weighs in at a hefty 20lbs with the Choate stock but a pretty good shot none the less! Thank you again! :dancingbanana:

20 Lbs??? Yikes!

I think mine, all in, is about 12lbs loaded... max. How hefty is the Choate? I thought they were skeletonized in the rear end?

Holy jeebus!

Maybe I should weigh mine then... I'm a big guy though, so even toting around my M14S doesn't seem all that heavy. Hm. Now you've got me thinking.
