It seems every time I find a bullet I like, it ends up unavailable!! I started reloading 9mm using Hornady's 124 FMJ/BT's and there you have it .. no one carries them.

Now i'm looking at mail-ordering in 1000 115 gr FMJ's as I can't get only 100 (or any amount for a decent price) from my local gun shop to test .. my local gun shop .. a joke really, dusty product nobody wants on the shelf, 3-6 months to bring anything in ; that is if they give you the time in the first place to make the order as they are usually too busy to deal with someone who clearly doesn't have any money to spend :jerkit: , and usually 20% higher prices then anything i've ever found online including shipping.

.. sigh .. why does southwestern ontario not have a 'reloaders only' shop like say the shooters den up in sudbury?! Or even Williams Arms in Port Perry?! Isn't their enough business down this way?!

Well, with that said, has anyone tried these 115 grain Hornady 9mm bullets? Are they comparable in accuracy to the 124 grain ones?

A real kick in the pants is when I went down to Cabelas in Seattle, Washinton last weekend, and saw shelf after shelf after shelf of bullets and brass... I wanted to cry!

Oh well... what do ya do? I'm gonna invest in a sling shot! but pretty soon they are gonna ban the export of rocks... you just can't win.... :(
 
AIM makes that bullet and it handles the high pressures of 38 Super loaded for "Major" (1380 f/s). You may like those.

Canadian BDX produces that bullet in FMJ as well. If your local dealer is out, PM "Maurice" here on CGN. He may have some for you.

Already called .. he said he has some on back order and won't see those for "many months".

I also noticed that 124 grain FMJ has been removed from Hornady's web site. Seems it 'may' be discontinued, but who really knows for sure.

Aim Projectiles is worth looking into. Good product, decent prices. Even better it's made in Canada, so they are usually going to have what you want in stock. They ship direct, so you are able to 'skip' the middle man.

You also could try reloders.ca I seem to remember seeing some 124 gr FMJ on the site last I looked.

Not enough demand for jacketed pistol bullets in Canada.
"...a 'reloaders only' shop..." Neither of those shops are a 'reloaders only' shop.
 
I have Cam-Pro TMJRN jacketted bullets in stock. $12.50/100
These as good as Speer or Hornady.
They are high quality & high velocity bullets.

I haven't bought a box of bullets in years, in fact the last time I bought some .338 bullets they were $19.00 and I thought that was outrageous:)

I both practice and hunt with cast bullets and as long as I have primers and powder I am set for life.
 
It's not just bullets. Went to Cabela's in Winnipeg today - no powder, no primers, no dies, no 243 brass, nada. Did find I believe their last box of 7MM 139 gr. SST's. No 6.5 bullets, no 243 bullets.
On to WS - only h4831 (last one) and IMR 4320, did find 6.5MM 120 Nosler BT, did find 58 gr. Hornady V-Max, did find winchester primers and lee deluxe 243 dies. Just about forgot the 243 brass - oops, none of that there either except the Nosler custom at $54 or 50. You can buy Fed. blue box 243 ammo for that kind of coin. Everyone is really short, and that includes a lot of factory ammo.
 
This is one problem that we can't blame on that idiotic 'Homeland Security' BS. The way the Americans are behaving, you'd think WE were the enemy.

Funny thing is, the last time out two countries went 'at it', it was THEM invading US. REALLY nice part is that they are still calling it the 'White House', so that's one on our scoreboard.

But this is a problem which has been around for a long time, and the nature of the problem is that Canadian importers are greedy and lazy. If they can't make a ton of money RIGHT NOW, they aren't interested. And they all have 'franchises' so we are SCROOD and they don't care tuppence.

Ordering through Canadian gun shops which work through Canadian importers who have franchises on American-built product lines, it took 6 years to get a set of 8mm Kropatschek dies. As of right now, I have just ordered a Lee bullet mould for my Martini..... for the third time. I have been waiting 4 years. I ordered a set of 8x56R30M dies originally in 1966 and I am STILL waiting. Fortunately there now are more makers. Perhaps it all will get settled out some day.

But until that day arrives, we are at the mercy of the US Gummint, the Canadian Gummint and, perhaps most destructive of all, The Canadian Sporting Goods Industry which, if it can't make a megabuck for a telephone call, just ain't interested.

And that's the way the Real World happens to be.

Gawd, but I wish somebody would set up a full-line depot for Prvi Partizan and then KEEP everything in stock!
 
Slushee, I got 124 Grain XTP and 125 Grain HAP instock... we do have a reloading only store in southern ontario its called Reloaders.ca. I have 124 Grain FMJ on the way but ETA is unknown.

You need to email hornady and complain but they dont listen to us up here anyways we don't count we are just the 52nd state :)

If you guys would actually buy things from me so I could make some money...for rent I could open a small store.

Sunray is right there is just not a enough demand for this stuff up here... When I started out I was the only projectile dealer on here since a few more people got into the game we all are just fighting for the same dollar and no one makes any money at it.

Also the distrubition and warehousing of the products is non existant here in canada "distributors" just place the order with the company in the states... take there percentage and ship it to me. They dont actually have any substantial stock here in Canada.
